Racial Bias in Football Commentary

Intelligence helps with everything you do in life.
Well beyond my disagreement with the general premise I do think it is worth pointing out that not every black footballer is coming from Africa originally and a large number will have had access to similar schools as the average white player. Which is to say even if that is the line of thinking it is still shall we say problematic.

I didn't say every black player comes from Africa mate.

That view is quite racist.

I think it depends where people are from.

Some countries have a very poor education system, I don't think you can label everybody as stupid of a certain race, but some nations educate their people better.

Sadly some parts of Africa have very poor education.

Well what did you do here?

Anyway the point isn't to play some kind of got you game but you're talking about power and pace not being bias because that's a natural thing but the study also found biases in how often each race is called intelligent and I don't think you or anyone else really wants to take that stuff about pace and power and go there with it.

Well I defo didnt say all black players are from Africa did I?

I used Africa as an example of a country with a poor education system cos quite frankly I couldn't think of another region known for its poor education system.

I don't intend to carry this any further but you've got a post in this thread that mentions genetics and if you're going there don't try and turn it on someone who asks you if you're prepared to carry it all the way.

Just as another example that's come up recently Adama Traore, who no one will argue isn't fast and strong, has suddenly started to actually be a pretty damn good player. Yet it still seems that all anyone talks about is how he is fast and strong. Which is weird because when he wasn't doing as well he was still, you guessed it, fast and strong. It's almost like something else changed that made him good, but I'll be damned if I ever really here that discussed.

I don't know if anyone cares, but in light of recent events world wide, I think it might be worth thinking about.

Traore has always been fast and strong, he just doesn't have an end product, I've compared him to a weight lifter in the past.

Peter Beagrie was the same, all the tricks but none of the end product.

Traore grew up in Spain, I assume he was given a reasonable education.

Anyway, I'm quite racist, I'm able to admit that, I grew up in the 80s, racism wasn't just ignored it was practically encouraged, but im trying to educate myself. When I say im racist I dont mean that I abuse black people or think they are lesser, but I do have some racial bias that I will never be able to change. I believe that genetics and nationality make people a certain way. British people drink tea, Murican people are loud and brash, Africans have a poor education, Asian people are dead good at APM games.

I think every day about racism and how I can become a better person, I now have a mixed-race Grandson and I don't want him living in the world I grew up in.

But I cant change my views that in my mind arent built on race.

Oh yeah, I’m not disagreeing about their education system will be poor.

But they probably know that Europe isn’t a country.

We had the same teacher for Geography and RE, I hated him, I spent the last year of school standing outside his class room, needless to say I got an F in my GCSE Geography . And only got a D in English.

And besides, the missus is making tea and dancing round the kitchen like a tit, so I'm kinda distracted!
