hi guys! an algerian here. i saw a lot of people here say that they don't know anything about rachid. so i thought as a person who watched him alot i can give a clear picture about him. this is gonna be a wall of text so. if you want to know him. be patient with me
-Rachid Ghezzal (born 9 May 1992) is a French-born Algerian footballer who plays as a winger for the French club lyon in ligue 1 and the algerian national team. 24 years old and he is 1.82 m (6 ft 0 in). left footed.
he is a RW/RM/CAM and he can even play LW (he can do a decent job there. but if he comes to everton he will not provide the same quality as the other LW players in this club). a very good first touch and passing. great long shot. and more then good playmaking ability for a winger . but the area that i can see him be great is set pieces. an accurate cross and a very nice free kick combo can make him work against teams that sit back .and of course he has the skill package
-he was never the popular prospect in the lyon academie. a lot of fans hated him. before the start of last season. lyon let bahlouli go to monaco and kept ghezzal. and that enraged the fans because fares was thebrighter prospect. he was abused for no reason . he played very few games in the first half of the season. and by half season his coach was sacked because of bad results ghezzal was heading to the exit door. but the new coach give him one last chance in the french cup. and in that game he got 2 goalslol. and just like that ghezzal got his chance as a starter. he then gone to win (IIRC) the lyon's jan. feb. and march's player of the month . he was on fire. and he got around 7 goals and 8 assists in 2016 (only ligue 1). he is like mahrez in a lot of areas. the background. the nationality. the position and the play style. he will be a bargain for just 11 million. i rate him high and i can think that he can be your mahrez ( if the team get him of course)

Not about Ghezzal specifically, but Algeria seems to have a lot of top attacking talent in general currently. Is your defense really poor? Seems like you all should be scoring 5 goals a game.

sorry for taking a long time to reply. i am a lyon fan (or a liverpool fan. i hope i am doing it right lol). i was just in this forum and people in here seemed great. so i thought i would help them with some useful information

Who are the best algerian players in ligue 1?

Our director of football is an expert on that league so we may see more players come over.

the best right now. i would go with riyad boudebouz.27 years old. a CAM. left footed. skills. set pieces and play making is his strong suit. the second most chances created after ozil in europe top 5 leagues. international since 2010. lazio wants him at the moment. he could go for 7.5 to 10 million euros and i think the best prospects are bahlouli.benrahma.ounas.benzia and mashash( he is yet to play for our national team. because he also has the moroccan and french passport). and other few kids ( but i don't think this is the year for them)

you just hit a really really sensitive nerve. we have 3 very good RW . mahrez (leicester). feghouli (west ham).. and ghezzal(everton) and probably ounas( a super talent from bordeaux). brahimi (porto) has the LW on lock down. and we have boudebouz and hanni( last years player of the season in belgium) that can play CAM. the defence on the other hand is bad. we don't have a proper CDM. our best CM(bentaleb) is an outcast because of pochettino. we have a one decent CB and another good CB(mandi). our RB and GK situation right now is not good but the crown jewel of our defence is ghoulam ( LB. napoli). it is almost unfair to pair such a great LB with mediocrity. and i think the reason why alot of our best player are wingers is because of the social situation in france for algerian immigrants. and the safest place in the squad is the winges. you can't play GK because your slightest mistake will couse you to be dropped for a less talented french kid. the same goes with the CB and CM position. for the ST position. you have to be very exceptional and have great numbers to even compete with good strikers i am not blaming the french academies or calling them racist. because of them we now have a good team. and they have the right to prefer their own kids. it is just unfair to any littel immigrant kid to compete with his position with other kids that are half as good as him

no. not at all . rachid is almost a finished product. benzia is good. benrahma has a bright future. bahlouli and ounas are brighter prospects ( especially ounas . he is insane) but they are too row to be better then him. i said rachid is almost a finished product because he did not play for a long time in the higher level. a part from that. i think he can slide to a starting spot
