Player Valuation: Free Transfer
EDIT: I have enough answers now and wont be putting anymore on the nufc forum - Thanks

Hey, I'm from the Newcastle forum (nufc-forum.com) and have a few questions for you all, if that's ok. Answers will be put up on our forum once received.

Thanks!

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?

3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?

4) Who are your best 3 players?

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. What are Everton's weak positions?

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)? :D

11) Finally, score prediction?

Additional question at the request of another user: Do you have any funny/witty chants or songs going at the moment? Any favourites?

For the song, and to the tune of Can't Take My Eyes Off You (not Volare ffs, always get them mixed up):

Marouane Fellaini, you are the love of my life,
Marouane Fellaini, I'd let you s hag my wife,
Marouane Fellaini...
I WANT CURLY HAIR TOOO!

Was at the game in your place a couple of seasons ago, 2nd best city in the UK

Good luck after next monday.

1) Signings in early, not lost a major player, no real will he, won't he sagas. Can we keep it up? Time will tell, we'll hit our blip at some point. Probably around the time we play Liverpool -.-

2) Kev M

3) Anywhere from 4th-7th, 4th being a distant dream though.

4) 3 most important... Gibson, Fella, Jelavic imo.

5) Phil Neville.

6) With no Gibson, CM and probably RB.

7) Ross Barkley, Junior, Shane Duffy

8) Fellaini

9) Tough one, Ben arfa.

10) Gibson's did himself in at WBA, Looked lost in the middle of the park without him. Felli rumours, but I don't think they will effect us too much.

11) 2-1 to us.

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?
For the first time in years we have a quality striker (in Jelavic) who is not lazy or disinterested. I personally think the WBA game was just a brief blip and we'll be back to our winning ways on Monday:D.

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?
Kevin Mirallas.

3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?
6th.

4) Who are your best 3 players?
Baines, Fellaini and Jelavic.

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?
Neville!

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. What are Everton's weak positions?
RB. I'd say RW too but we need to see more of Mirallas first.

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?
Ross Barkley and George Green are the 2 that stand out. I can't really comment on the others as I don't watch the reserve/youth sides.

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?
Since RB is your weakest position I'd say Baines and Pienaar.

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?
Ben Arfa - he's a matchwinner.

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)? :D
Looks like Gibson could be out. Very underrated player, the type that you don't notice unless you watch a team every week.

11) Finally, score prediction?
3-1 Everton!

Additional question at the request of another user: Do you have any funny/witty chants or songs going at the moment? Any favourites?
See the Fellaini song above

Could you post your answers to these questions (excluding the first and sixth obviously)?

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?

Personally I've thought for a while it's all down to mentality. We cave into expectation at the start of each season as our form at the end gets us optimistic. The clichéd 'if the season started in January we'd have finished in the top 4' line comes out in July/August and we get ahead of ourselves. The season starts, we cave. Funnily enough as soon as people start talking about us as top 4 contenders (Paul Merson on SSN for example), we then go and give a head-to-toe awful performance against West Brom.

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?

Definitely Mirallas. Players with skill and pace who don't have psychological problems sign for us once every generation. Well, it feels like that anyway!

3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?

6th-7th.

4) Who are your best 3 players?

Baines, Fellaini and Jelavic. With a special shout out for Distin who's been a consistent colossus at the back for a few years now.

Pienaar will squeeze into the top 3 if he plays this season like he did in his loan spell last year. He was fundamental to everything then.

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?

Phil Neville. His legs went years ago, he is genuinely useless on the ball and he moves in slow motion.

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. *What are Everton's weak positions?

RB, RW and CM. RB/RW are linked though. We've craved a good attacking RB as we don't have a good right winger, but Mirallas -- if he does play there, which I'm not sure he will -- could solve that. The crucial hole in my opinion is in CM. We miss Mikel Arteta. Not modern day Arteta, I mean 2009 era Arteta -- a playmaker at the heart of your team, always available and always pulling the strings.

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. *Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?

Ross Barkley is the big one. It looks like he's going out on loan but he's generally considered to be the best prospect since Rooney, and a far greater one than Rodwell. He's only 18 though and Moyes is a bit hesistant to use him, so 'future' is the operative word.

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?

Good question. It's hard to tell really. If you can cope with Fellaini's physicality then it may be Pienaar/Baines.

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?

He's a massive tit but Cabaye, as he's a genuine playmaker. We're crying out for that.

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)? :D

Gibson. Which doesn't seem like a big deal but he's secretly been highly influential for us, in a very nondescript way. Neville will probably take his place in midfield and that's definitely something for you to cling onto.

11) Finally, score prediction?

3-1 Everton. I think we'll turn you over like we did last season. I'm not much of an optimist usually but I really fancy us against teams that don't sit back and defend. Factor in the home advantage, the night time kick off and the subsequent vociferousness of the crowd... yep, I fancy us.

Additional question at the request of another user: *Do you have any funny/witty chants or songs going at the moment? *Any favourites?

No. We have the worst chants in the fecking league. "Jelavic nanananananananana". F*cking inspired that.

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?

West Brom away was one of those games where the team looked like they expected the win just for turning up. Fellaini had a nightmare and Darron Gibson went off injured which was definitely a factor. Also the ref was a right belter. I think we can keep up or revive the good form we showed in our first two games and a match under the floodlights against a good team like you lot is exactly the type of game we do it in.

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?

Kevin Mirallas. He looks exciting.

3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?

5th.

4) Who are your best 3 players?

Leighton Baines, Nikica Jelavic, Steven Pienaar IMO. Many would have Fellaini in there but he's too inconsistent for me.

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?

Neville

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. What are Everton's weak positions?

Right back. Tony Hibbert is a good defender but not great going forward and Neville wouldn't get a game for my Sunday league side. We also lack a centre midfielder who can proxide cover for Fellaini or Gibson.

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?

The obvious answer for Evertonians - Ross Barkley. Also a young centre midfielder we signed from Manchester City's academy Francisco Junior looks promising as does Shane Duffy. John Lundstram is under the radar for many Evertonians but is very impressive in the reserves.

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?

Fellaini if he's in the mood. If not then you'd have to say Jelavic purely because of his finishing.

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?

Probably Pappiss Cisse because he would slot in alongside or behind Jelavic nicely which is one of our weakest positions. We also lack depth up front.

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)?

Darron Gibson being out is a massive blow. We look half the side without him and he is one of the league's most under rated players. The majority of our fans were unsure to the say the least when he signed, but he's proven many, including myself, wrong.

11) Finally, score prediction?
2-0 to us, sorry. Just think we'll play well and win here.

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?

Of course not. It's Everton and we will of course turn ****e and then good again. How we roll.

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?

This Oviedo fella. Dunno why. Has a cool name. Bryan Oviedo. Sounds like someone I'd let shag my missus if I could watch.

3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?

5th/6th is an achievable yet difficult target. I'll go for 7th.

4) Who are your best 3 players?

Fellaini, Jelavic and Heitinga (although he'll likely not start for some reason). Special mention to Pienaar as I tried to pick 1 from all 3 outfield areas. Mirallas looks like he's going to be a decent player too- fingers crossed!

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?

Honestly all our players do a job out there. If he plays Anichebe is probably our worst due to his poor attitude. Hibbert is a good defender but going forward- not so much- although he's started being semi acceptable with his crossing for some reason.

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. What are Everton's weak positions?

Probably going forward RB is something we'd need to look at as Neville and Hibbert are ageing although we have Coleman who no one is entirely sure where exactly he plays. I'll say defensive midfield if Fellaini is pushed forward. Neville or Heitinga sometimes fill in there. Just god please no.

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?

Ross Barkley and hopefully Francisco Junior who everyone has high hopes for. Vellios was decent last year too.

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?

Fellaini will fist your players at will. Just depends if the rest play like gash Everton or ace Everton. We are sciz.

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?

Cabaye. Brilliant player. Timmy Cahill's left so he'd be safe now aswell.

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)? :D

Don't think anything so far, but give it time. EDIT: Gibson. I always forget Gibson.

11) Finally, score prediction?

Gonna go for 2 0 which would be a very good result for us. Could go either way. After last season no one is taking Newcastle lightly.

Wow, cheers for the quick responses lads

Could you post your answers to these questions (excluding the first and sixth obviously)?
Certainly (be aware my opinions often differ quite a lot form other toon fans though haha)

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?
Bigirimana looks a class act at only 18 years old. *You won't see him on Monday though unless Tiote is out (I think he is a very small doubt too). *
Vurnon Anita is our summer signing who is most likely to push for a first team place this season. *He'll probably fill in at RB on Monday.

3) What league position do you expect Newcastle to finish in this season?
Honestly, god knows! *Could be anything from 15th to 4th. *I would be happy with top 7, if we have a decent run in Europa

4) Who are your best 3 players?
For me, Coloccini, Tiote and Ben Arfa. *Krul, Cabaye, Ba and Cisse push them hard though

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?
Usually, it'd be Simpson at RB, but because he's out I'm not so sure. *Anita would only be playing his 3rd PL game for us, in his unfavoured position at RB, so on Monday, I'd probably go with that. *Williamson isnt the most mobile at CB either

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. *What are Everton's weak positions?
-

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. *Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?
Bigi, Sammy Ameobi, Vuckic and Abeid all look like they could become real top class players. *Thankfully they should all get a chance this season

8 ) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?
Ben Arfa. *Assuming we play 4-4-2 (which everyone hates, but Pardew plays it seemingly to keep Ba happy), he is the only one who will create anything for us. *Has the capacity to produce a moment of magic (as you all know!)

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?
I want to say Fellaini, because I think he's class, but I don't see where he'd fit, to be honest. *So I'll go with Baines. *We could switch Santon to RB.

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. *Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)?
-

11) Finally, score prediction?
With our problems, I can't see anything other than a loss to be honest. *Anything more would be a great result for us.
3-1 Everton

EDIT: What's with all the * that appear O_o

Hey, I'm from the Newcastle forum (nufc-forum.com) and have a few questions for you all, if that's ok. Answers will be put up on our forum once received.

Thanks!

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?
The past few seasons have seen disruption with the loss of key players like Joleon Lescott and Mikel Arteta, and if we weren't losing any players, we certainly weren't able to freshen the squad up. That quite often resulted in a lack of confidence from the players and fans alike and usually taking a defining game or moment to kick the players up the arse and realise their potential, this year I believe the confidence in the clubs ability is quite high with the key captures of Pienaar and Naismith with Mirallas and Oviedo to be brought into the fold as well. The players have the ability to better your achievements of last term and go that step further to finish 4th.
2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?
Pienaar would be too obvious although I see him as vital and an exceptional talent. Kevin Mirallas comes highly rated and finished top-scorer in the Greek league despite playing in wide positions and not as a front man, he has already scored twice for the club albeit against Leyton Orient in the League cup and looks to have pace, vision and trickery, all key assets that EFC have possibly lacked in depth over the past few years.
3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?
If our signings click as well as it looks they will, 4th is not out of the question, but I would say we will at least finish 6th place, there's a lot of top talent in our squad and I believe that will be reflected in our league position this year.
4) Who are your best 3 players?
Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar and Marouane Fellaini.
5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?
hmmmm, Tony Hibbert is prone to the odd positional error and Tim Howard is prone to conceding the odd 30 yarder, but they are both good players and would have to be having off days a la West Brom for you to exploit them, it is more likely they will be focused and in no mood to make it an easy game for NUFC though as two dodgy games in a row would seem unlikely, that said your lot carry a serious threat with top talents like Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Cisse and Ba, so we'll see.
6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. What are Everton's weak positions?
RB and depth up-front. As much as Tony Hibbert is as good a tackler as anyone in the Premier league, he is poor when we are attacking and can from time to time, be a hindrance in that manner. Jelavic is as good a striker as there is, a player who links the play, has a great touch but most importantly is a fantastic finisher, but what about when he is injured? Anichebe is poor and we will struggle up top.

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?
Ross Barkley will be a top player in the future, a attacking midfielder in the Gascoigne style, but he needs to develop on loan somewhere. Shane Duffy also looks like he could be a top centre-back but has Jagielka, Distin and Heitinga to dislodge.

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?
Fellaini if he's deployed further forward.
9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?
Cabaye, he is as good a central midfielder as there is in Europe right now. technically and tactically very adept. In my opinion he would form a very good and balanced partnership with Darron Gibson in our midfield, more likely he'll end up at Real Madrid or Barca if he leaves NUFC at all.

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)? :D
Darron Gibson may be out and he is extremely important in setting up our passing rhythm and tempo.

11) Finally, score prediction?
hmmm, I'll keep that to myself, sorry.

Additional question at the request of another user: Do you have any funny/witty chants or songs going at the moment? Any favourites?

to the tune of 'Don't you want me'
"Oviedo baby, Oviedo ohhhhh", just sounds dead funny.

1) Everton are notoriously slow starters, but this season seems (seemed? - West Brom) to be different. Why so, and do you think you can keep it up?
best squad in years, possibly the best in my time as a fan

2) Which of your new signings are you most looking forward to seeing this season?
mirallas, he's belgian lad

3) What league position do you expect Everton to finish in this season?
5th, all of our rivals have europe to contend with

4) Who are your best 3 players?
Baines, Jelavic and that sexy man with the afro

5) Who is your worst player (usually in the starting XI - who we could exploit)?
i doubt anyone will put anything but neville, wherever he play's he'll be a nuisance...to us

6) Many Newcastle fans would agree that RB and CB are the positions we need strengthening the most. What are Everton's weak positions?
RB, possibly howard and the manager? starting XI and the bench is pretty decent from my POV

7) Newcastle will have to use all the talent in our youth/reserve squads this season. Who are some players to look out for in the future from Everton?
Barkley, R. and Duffy, S., doubt vellios has much future

8) Which Everton player will cause Newcastle the most problems on Monday night?
anichebe, his stroppyness could prove to be a right nuisance to your defence if he gets on the pitch

9) If you could add one current Newcastle player to your team, who would it be and why?
Cisse seems like he had a purple patch where everything he hit went in, ben arfa will never get over his injuries so i'd have krul as hes much better than howard

10) Pardew has a touchline suspension, our captain and RB are out injured, and there is a doubt over Krul in goal. Anything gone wrong for you in the build up that we can cling on to (injuries)?
Gibson missing, he makes us tick. it also means neville will play

11) Finally, score prediction?
i reckon we'll be the better team but end up with a 1-1 draw
