I know he doesn't need a rest but it's obvious that he doesn't like McCarthy and Besic together so it's no surprise in a game he needs to win McCarthy is playing.

What I mean is that he doesn't need to play to give him minutes as he knows he will play two games away on international duty.

Barkley is probably not playing because he wants to give Kone and Osman game time and he knows Ross will also be away.
