OK, I know we are not due to restart the eason until August, but I thought that it might be fun for those esteemed people on this board to suggest how they think Everton will do next season. Not where you want them to be (excet in the last question where you can freeflow), but what you think will happen in the following areas:

League placing:

FA Cup:

League Cup:

Uefa Cup:

Overall if your prediction came true would you consider next season to be a success or failure? (Wax lyrical on this one, I know you will anyway)

5th again but maybe a bit closer to the top 4......

uefa cup finalists at least

fa cup s/f

league cup q/f

Good post, I made one like this for last season. I'll make my predictions once the coming and goings start (y)

Same, it's hard to judge where we'll finish until we figure out how improved we are and others around us are.

League: Qualify for Europe again without Intertoto qualification, so 5-6.

FA Cup: Last sixteen, hopefully Quarterfinal

League Cup: Quartefinal

UEFA-Cup: Last 16

Hopefully better, but if this comes true I'm happy since we've once again shown that we are a force to be reconed with in England and Europe again. The reason for my low expectations in the national cups are the risk of facing a tough draw early on. With out luck we'll get Arsenal/Chelsea very early away.

League: 3rd, at the expense of the RS and a soon to implode Chelski (Roman's getting bored)

UEFA: Winners

FA Cup: 4th Round

League Cup: last 16

... now before you all start giggling, think back to March, before the second Fiorentina game... comfortably in 4th and all of a sudden on Chelski's coat-tails.

A year wiser, with a fully fit Cahill, Mikky and Manny, plus whomever Davey gets in to pick up the squad, I think we can stay that bit longer.
Whereas, that circus over the park looks like it's going to run and run, providing many a hilarious distraction.
Meanwhile, down Saaarf, although Roman very kindly paid of Chelski's external debt, he's underwriting their operating losses to the tune of £270M to the end of 2006 (this, in addition to the £440M he's spent acquiring the club and players and the £75M Eurobond he's repaid from his own pocket). The only thing keeping them in his hands at the moment is that nobody else in their right mind would buy a club making such monumental losses.

Having said that, if they keep on hemorrhaging players at this rate, I reckon we could take Arsenal too (y):D

League placing: 1st

FA Cup: We'll fackin' win it

League Cup: Quarter final (not worth it really)

Uefa Cup: Win this too

That's called optimism...or else stupidity I'm not sure which one.

I'd settle for another 5th place but having a better go in the cups, particularly the UEFA, which I believe we are capable of going all the way in.

.
For progress to be gained next year, we must either win the UEFA cup and finish 5 or finish in the top 4. Since we have a shocking record of winning any cups over the past 20 odd years (95 aside), our best chance is 4th, but then it's upto bully to give coin to mr moyes...and whats with this [Poor language removed] board anyways, not telling moyes hey we are [Poor language removed], we spent it all, on a day out to the sex shop haha

My predictions:

League 5th (again)
FA Cup QF
Carling Cup QF
UEFA Cup SF - we're getting there!

- for the record this was my effort last year:

League 6th
FA Cup 5th
Carling Cup SF
UEFA Cup Last 32 (based on the assumption we would get a tough opponent, which we probably would have if we hadn't won the group) :D

Of the clubs that finished above us this past season - it's just possible that Roman Abomobitch may lose interest if they won the CL and Arsenal are still prone to implode towards the end of the season - as for The RS well all they need is one bad run and the game will be up - goodbye S-Me-Laa, can't keep up the payments - goodbye Fernando and bingo - civil war on the streets of Taunton and Oslo - can't see Man U messing up barring an injury crisis of implausible proportions!
