Prostate cancer and getting a psa test

Been today for the PSA blood tests along with the same for cholesterol and diabetes. I’ve had to push for the PSA tests with my doctor despite reaching 60 recently ( which is another story altogether) and never having been called for a ‘well-man’ type of check up.
I’ve had four close friends with serious cancer illnesses in the last 12 months alone with one of them resulting in death at only 62. I promised him I’d get checked so here we are. A very close friend has had a major operation resulting in a stoma so the thought of a finger up the hoop shouldn’t even be an issue when I see what he’s been through.
I’ve lost peeing pressure about 12 months ago but just put it down to getting older so that was playing on my mind too. Fortunately, still enjoying morning wood and no need for any chemical boost to get the pecker up.

Bloods should be back by Friday so hopefully all good.

As the OP said ( great post by the way)…..go and get yourself checked, and don’t take no for an answer from the Dr or their receptionist.

Brother in law currently undergoing treatment. he's had an operation about 2 years a go and currently under mild treatment with testing every 3 months. fingers crossed he's fine.

He had a work medical randomly and they asked if he wants PSA test included, he thought why not and that's how he found out! completely by chance, with no symptoms. Its frightening really!
