Seen it Friday night. Leaves a lot of open questions and a little confused I have to say . The more you think about do and as time goes by , the better it gets. Like a fine wine.
I saw an advert for it last night and thought it was a remake of Aliens, which funnily enough was on tv last night as well.

Have to say I hadn't heard anything about the movie, but a quick perusal of Google does say it's a prequel of sorts to the Alien movies, which would explain it.

Just heard from a friend that it was terrible. Plot wise that is. He likened it to Avatar - all style, no substance.

It has had mixed reviews to be fair though Alien and Bladerunner weren't critically aclaimed on release, but now they are considered (and rightly so) masterpieces

it's basically StarTrek 5 with Aliens thrown in to mix things up. It's an OK watch, but doesn't explain anything and leaves a bunch of unanswered questions.
You're better off reading a spoiler. Mind you compared to the film I watched the day before, Snow white and the huntsman, it was a cinematic masterpiece!

It's not a prequel to Alien. I think Scott said it started out life as that but developed into something quite different.
It is set in the same 'universe' though, and there are a few nods toward it.
If you go watching it expecting an action packed film with xenomorphs and pulse rifles, you're going to be disappointed.
