TBH I was getting pretty sick of football before it, I was disillusioned with it previously, but if the continue with the season I think I've reached my limit with football. The reality is football simply isn't that enjoyable anymore, if you look at our side that got to the FA Cup final in 2009, it was made up of hard working players who were actually interested in succeeding. Players like Howard, Baines, Jags, Lescott, Yobo, Neville, Arteta, Pienaar, Felaini Cahill, Hibbert, Yakubu, Osman, Vaughan, and Anichebe, yes they weren't perfect, but they were still far better than the current crop. You felt they actually cared about the club and had a relationship with the fans, other than Coleman, Baines and Gomes, I can't really think of any of our players that I actually warm to. Clubs like Sunderland, Stoke, West Ham Portsmouth and Newcastle have been or have nearly been destroyed by mercenary players. Football is boring an predictable, how many times can Liverpool score in the last minute or get a dodgy penalty and people expect fans who be surprised by it.

You and I think alike mate.

4 positive tests out of just over 1000 done.

A cracking result according to BBC radio 5 live tonight.
That would be an infection rate of 400 per 100,000. If you compared that to the figures from local authorities, it would be the 14th highest in the country.

Anyone suggesting that 4 out of 1,000 is a positive result is living in cloud-cuckoo-land because even with testing the results are still (in the short period) high.

Whilst I agree with your general point, I'm not sure you can accurately extrapolate to 100,000 cases like that.

Aye, it's a very crude comparison but the point still stands. Reporters suggesting that 4 out of a 1,000 is a good rate doesn't adequately correlate with the ratios.

St Helens is one of the worst hit regions in the country and it has a rate of 4.17 out of 1,000.

The disallowed last minute goal against Utd did it for me.
Football is now a choreographed farce akin to American wrestling.

Love the rule about no spitting allowed. It's a reflex action. Training sessions will be five-a-side or worse inside a day. And think about Carragher; he'll be beside himself whenever he's on the highway.

If a player’s throat fills up with phlegm will he be expected to just swallow it?

A very unhealthy thing to do.

Footballers always get stick for spitting on the pitch, but it's pretty necessary to clear the airways and help with breathing IMO.

Whenever I play footy inside in a gym or whatever i always try avoid spitting but end up not being able to breathe!

I said it before, I'll say it again. If this whole thing doesn't make a lot of countries take a hard look at who they elect, nothing will. How on earth people like Boris and Trump are in power just completely makes me lose all hope in humanity.
Some people I know voted for Boris because "he makes me laugh". Absolute cretins each and everyone of them.

I'm not sure but I think there is evidence that intense physical exercise causes the body to produce a chemical that results in your saliva becoming thicker. This is why people need to spit because their mouth is full of excessively thick saliva.

Same. I haven't been properly interested in Everton since Martinez's second season when he brought in a load of dross and our team spirit just disappeared. In stark contrast, the decade previous saw us gain success through a brilliant team spirit and players who wanted to play for each other and the club.

This isn't just an Everton thing though, football in general is the same every year.

Interesting reading. It does look like all the things we hated about modern football might be eradicated by Covid. Average players on big contracts. Mainly the realisation that whatever they thought beforehand, the fans make the game.

One in the eye for the RS and Leeds conspiracy theorists, 3 positive test announced in the Championship, 2 of which coming from Fulham, one of Leeds’ promotion rivals

What? This doesnt make sense. The Derby cant be at home but the problem will only come from when they win the league

Depending on what fixtures they mean, I can see this being a sticking point for teams down the bottom.

I'm convinced that's the reason he got such a high majority. When was the last PM we had who was constantly referred to by their first name only? Everyone thinks he's their mate who says wacky things. That's not what I want running our country.
