I reckon if the medical chief of Fifa says it’s unsafe you might have a decent chance of refusing . If I was a player I’d also want to know the exact score on the insurance details as well

This is where the agents and PFA should be doing their jobs in employing top consultants and experts to come up with a set of conditions and procedures to present to employers to say “these are the conditions our members/players“ are prepared to play under. However I’ve never seen the PFA see their role as representing a collective of players throughout the divisions rather they are a many faced body willing to argue the toss on an individual by individual basis. Can’t ever see them coming up with a collective view point as the game is generally one of individual greed and never more so than now.

Would love to see the outrage after the BBC bidding 7billion for Premier League footy.

They do not have 7 billion C.

Lets put it this way, they've bid enough on other sports that the Prem could easily make up the difference in Amazon/their own service and still selling foreign rights.

Theres no reason to be blind to the future.

I think amazon is the future anyway. It's cheaper , a larger audience, and a more intuitive way to interact and sell extras to us fans!

I do think ultimately Amazon will the get the gig but not for a few years yet. The reason being is once SKY lose the broadcasting rights
The PL lose the total control of the media which they currently have. The PL & SKY are the two cheeks of the same backside.
Via SKY the PL control the footballing agenda and the narrative being put forward to the armchair masses who stump up their £70
a month every month. Together the PL & SKY control the newspapers who want the clicks & hits to generate advertising revenue.
It really is a cosy little arrangement which, todate, has worked exceptionally well for all concerned. Amazon could literally blow SKY
out of the water for the broadcasting rights by using a bit of the loose change they have down the back of one of their sofa's! and
eventually, I believe they will do it. As you say, I also think they will have a very different model and it will also be much cheaper. Amazon have built their
business on scale. They go after the masses. However they do it - it has to be better than the current biased output which is literally infested
by Liverpool & United cohorts. Bring it on!

Eventually the sheer numbers of amazon will take over the demand for sky as soon as 2 years imo

I think Sky will counteract Amazon by setting up a club by club package with the Premier League together in the near future.

They keep it in house and control the output.

If the government extend the lockdown into June next week that could be it for the league. It’s natural and sensible that they would have to make plans for both scenarios (if they could play and if they couldn’t). We’re getting towards the point though where the end of July deadline won’t be made if we cannot start up games almost immediately. It’s a 4 week window even at three games a week to get all of this played so it would have to start end of May at the latest. If the lockdown is still in place by then then surely it’s a no go. Then we’ll see what the plans are for a cancelled league. Do they draw a line across it or void it. Either way the period for kicking the can down the road is coming to and end.

I love this. Contracts end last day of June for a lot of players. Sure, some may be willing to extend but not everyone will. Still no word how THATS going to play out either, do they?

If a player catches the virus and it wrecks his lung capacity, how much in future earnings would he potentially miss out on ?

Can't see many insurance companies queuing to take that risk on

Interesting you mention insurance, this is a serious thing with this virus a lot are forgetting about, they will have a big say in this.

Was reading about oil ring workers, they are all having to self isolate when off work as it one gets the virus it could easy infect a whole rig. The piece mentioned divers, if they get it they can never work again because it will affect breathing.
I can see this virus having a similar issue with one who works in a job that requires breathing well. Something that is important in football, Del being a good example.
Get this once and your career wont be the same again with ruined lungs.

Football just can't get its head round not really being that important can it ?

The biggest drug on the planet.

Forget Alcohol, cigarettes or harder substances. This is a worldwide controling device for the masses that is easily masked as a fun sport, past time. The longer it remains out of the spotlight, the more people will go 'cold turkey' and walk away.

The showing of older games has actually proven how far removed from a quality sport the game has become.

I have watched quite a lot of 80's and early 90's matches recently and you can see how much better a product it was, before SKY blew it's relevance completely out of proportion.

The quality has not improved. If anything it has regressed into a procession for the 'big red teams'. What has increased is oversaturation of games and costs to the loyal common fan.

The vast financial brokers are those driving this agenda that it needs to return asap.
