So many clubs cut it close to the deadlines each year and having something like this only goes to show how risky a strategy they run. Not as easy as it sounds mate.
It's one or two players shipped out to most clubs. No big deal. The drama at the minute is all in the will we/won't we.
As it stands we, as a country, are behind only Spain and America in the death toll. Footy ain't happening any time soon.

Doubt anyone will be spending big mate. I guess we'll see how Germany gets on before knowing if it's possible.

Basically there are 4 options
1. Cancel the season
2. Postpone the season
3. Play behind closed doors
4. Just play as normal

Number 4 obviously can't happen, number 3 would be too difficult and number 2 presents too many problems, so basically the only realistic option is number 1.
So what do we do with this season becomes the big question. Again there are a few options
1. call it as it currently stands
2. decide placings on average points per game
3. Null and void

Can't do number 1 as not all teams have played the same number of games, can't do 2 because some teams have played harder games than others, some teams were starting to hit form and others were losing form so that just leaves option 3.
So how do we decide European places and promotions/relegations?

Cancel next years European competitions. Most countries will have restricted borders for the rest of the year anyway, so no European places to worry about anyway.

No promotion or relegation. Clubs don't have the right to be in the premier league anyway, so can't demand to be allowed in.

Since there is no relegation and no European qualification, you can't have a champion either. The entire season is just written off and we start making plans to play next season

Sorry but this proposal of testing players and officials twice a week is just plain offensive...
How can you justify using up these vital resources for a sport that is not vital to the safety of the public?
There aren't enough resources available yet they want to dedicate an enormous amount just so the rich can stay rich and the scum can have their title?

How hard is it to say to Sky/BT its not happening and you can't make us due to Government guidelines.

PFA and FA need to start showing to backbone and putting pressure on the Premier League.

Renegotiate terms of the Media contract and stop the stop this dumb idea.

I know it's the Daily Fail but surely this has to be a made up story. Surely?
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...lay-theres-one-positive-coronavirus-test.html
I suspect not. If you look at the NHS for example, one positive test for a member of staff in a department would not cause all the rest to isolate - test them yes.

The same will be for all the other key services as well, which I suspect will be underpinning their logic. The difference being that footballing staff are not key workers.

In reality, the article is unnecessary because it is missing the main point: starting football again would be an unnecessary risk for the people involved in it.

I think it's about time the bigger PL clubs step up and carry the smaller ones through this crisis
Somewhere in the not too distant past, there was mention of the Premier League's cash reserve (maybe on the previous locked thread?). Surely that's what this is for - an insurance for the troubled times so that the teams can get themselves past it, and prepared for leaner times if there's an issue with income over the long term?

I would also think that the PL may consider some form of largesse to the lower divisions too.

Yup, they've been raking it in over the years, it's about time the mingebags opened their wallets.
