Progress

I think we 7th is about right given the sides above us. I actually think considering the Long term injuries to Bolasie, Coleman and McCarthy. We've done pretty well.

I think we would have to have quite a sensational summer to be in with a shout of 4th, and ultimately think that's another 2 good windows off, at least, but there are lots of tangible markers to progress next season;

- Good runs in the cups, and win one of them.
- Improvement of our awful away form.
- At least one win away at the Top 6.
- An extra 10 league points.

All of that is achievable, and would certainly make subsequent transfer windows much easier. In the summer we have to bridge the gap and get players who can help contribute towards the above whilst in all likelihood accepting that anyone who is targeted by bigger clubs here and elsewhere will choose them over us.

Koeman has done well to get us 7th, especially considering injuries and the reliance on so many players who again stunk the place out yesterday with laziness and apathy. We'll definately need at least another six in, and that's players who can go straight in and play, getting academy prospects and players for the U23's whilst good for the future doesn't count for the here and now.

I'm fine with both Barkley and Lukaku leaving if they don't want to be here, provided the proceeds are added to the kitty rather than representing it in full. If that happens, then its an almost total overhaul required and that will mean things take even longer to gel.

We just have to finish next season stronger on a number of fronts than we are finishing this. That will be good enough for me. It's about continuous improvement and finding extra %'s on and off the pitch for the next few years.

It does not make sense. Literally the same core that got your magically 5th place AND finishing 11th and 13th.

If the clown had stayed this season, it won't be even midtable. Something like 15th.

We're on 58 points lad. If we were tearing this league up and in amongst the big boys you might have half a point to make about a manager who did exactly that.

Stop spreading fake news Dave. from 4th May.

"We have a very powerful and exciting project and we're going to strengthen as best as possible to try and reach the Champions League next season," Koeman said.

Radio Mersieyside reporter yesterday post game: "and you can now kick on next season and think about top four"?
The Dutchman: "yes but maybe top four is a little unrealistic"

Nothing fake news about that.

Massive change in discipline and focus needed after el Coco. Major injuries throughout the season. Self lauded 'superstars' downing tools the last month. Not able to attract any genuine attacking quality in the transfer window...

When you stand back and look at it, I'm surprised RK has got us anywhere near where we are tbh.

He was unlucky concerning injuries? Really? Compared to most other teams in front of us who were decimated by injuries we got off lightly. What was the big injury list? McCarthy being in and out of the team? Precisely what has been the nature of this "injury crisis"?

He had a free scoring Lukaku who he inherited.

I can't think what he'll do without Lukaku and mounting fatigue base d injuries with two games per week next season.

Got a link for this Dave? Disappointing attitude if true.

5th so? Moyes did it twice even finishing 4th. Martinez was a terrible manager although he was a bit better than Mike Walker and Walter Smith. He simply got found out that's why he was sacked.

Obviously our home form has shown progress. Fortress Goodison is back.

Our new signings look to fit the bill, and the youngsters too.

However the away form has been horrendous and needs major improvement, as does our knife to a gunfight continued mentality in certain games.

Lol.

We have a manager you support who has us on the mammoth total of 58 points so far and dumped us out of both cups early, but the manager who got us a club PL points record and to the letter stages of three cup completions in the short time he was here was "terrible".

Your bitterness needs looking at mate. It must be tearing you apart.

I think this is good. If he would keep praising losing team like Martinez did we wouldnt be going nowhere. Koeman doesnt take crap from no one and our board knows this -you can also ask Saits, they know believe me- and this keeps up healthy pressure on. This will be the only way we can progress as a club and as a team. Board will have to back this man up and they will.

For 2 years he stank the place out.
