Premier League PPV

Sky and BT aren't making any money from the PPV, just taking enough to cover costs of production. Even if they were, they are competing against each other for subscribers. If Sky didn't pick Man U v Liverpool for example, BT would and vice versa depending on who gets first pick.

fair point, hadn't considered that element, hope that pans out the next few years!

ah well back to the radio it is

What a time to be alive that was. Remember living with my parents with the radio placed on the coffee table in the middle of the room with us all bunched around it - Sharp would be going "Osman has the ball, turns passes it Leighton Baines, squares it to Hibbert and GOALLLLLLL"

I'd pay £5 per game, maybe up to £10. Yes that is cheaper than buying a ticket, but it also involved none of the fun and I'd be sat at home in front of my telly on my todd.

Personally think you should just be able to pay X amount towards your team and be given access to watch all of their games.

I can't see many people paying this, I think Everton had 19 games broadcast on the main broadcasters last season, so if we have a similar number again, that's 19 games to buy at £14.95 that's £284.05 on top of what people are already paying for, sky, bt and prime.

It wouldn't be so bad if there was a way to get all of 1 teams games, even if it was £20 per month, because I think many people would reduce their sky/bt package to compensate. But in the long run it would damage the premier league. I think part of the reason its successful is that the TV companies have to show all the teams and people end up watching games they wouldn't normally watch and seeing good football (don't get me wrong, sometimes it is rough as well)

I think we are spoiled in USA. NBC is showing all 380 games this season. 205 on their regular cable tv network channels and the other 175 on Peacock TV which is $4.99 a month. They have replays of all 380 games on Peacock too. I bought an annual subscription to Peacock TV just before they went live for $29.99. Having to do PPV for single games in UK has to suck.
