Predictions for 2019/20 season

By September Crystal Palace will have officially changed their name to " The Likes of Crystal Palace" to ease pundits woes when explaining how a Big 6 club shouldn't lose to The Likes of Crystal Palace.
And Everton only to be said with a Gary Neville sneer.

I can't wait for "The Likes of Crystal Palace" against Everton (spit) being talked about on MotD next season.

Liverpool to finish 5th only for City to be banned from the CL and they’ll take their space. We’ll finish 7th yet find that two non top 6 teams have won the cups so will still miss out on Europe.

We will finish 5th a couple of points from CL spot
Liverpool will be out of the title race in March
Relegated will be Sheffield Utd/Palace/Burnley
FA cup winners Arsenal
Carabou cup winners EVERTON!!
CL winners Man City

7 out of 8 is pretty good.

Sorry mate! Have a feeling palace will lose a couple of key players
May be true. If Wan Bissaka goes not a disaster but if Zaha goes there will be a problem, especially as that is more likely towards the end of the window.
Even Wilfless there are three worse teams than Palace. Just.

I agree on paper there are worse teams right now, just think losing a couple of key players (which I think will happen) will lead to a long tough season

Is Wan Bissaka worth the fees that are being thrown a round for him? Whenever I’ve seen him he’s looked watertight defensively but at the expense of much attacking flair. I just don’t know why the England u-21 manager would ever pick Kenny ahead of a player who could be moving to United for 45 mill (apart from the fact that Boothroyd is an idiot)

Boothroyd being an idiot is a given. I don't know what any player is "worth" at any given time. He may be worth £50m to Utd today but he
wouldn't be worth anything like that to City or RS. Certainly defending is his strength, but then he is a defender. He is not as effective going forward as some other top FB's but he does get forward and can cross. I think Kenny, who I like, gets in over WB just to let WB ,who had an utter mare in the first game, get his head on straight.

Continuing my "all-too-early PL 19/20 preview" with some mid-table and top chasing clubs. None of this has been updated with any transfers in nor out of players or managers (looking at you, horse-punchers). Also, this has been solidly insulated from logic and careful thought, so read with warning and at your own dismay.

The OH SH*T! group:

Aston Villa--I hope these stay up as there are plenty others who deserve to go down. And I generally like their kits. An interesting question about their 19/20 campaign hopes is whether they will earn more points in the table than Jack Grealish will use in pounds of hair product during the same span.

SerenityNigh's odds: To win Miniscule; Top 4 ~0%; Top 7 1%; Relegation 24%

Bournemouth--I seem to be in the minority in liking the Boy Wonder Eddie Howe. These still aren't a good side and probably have run their course in the top flight. Working in their favor: only three teams drop, and they have equally qualified candidates battling with them for the drop. Working against them: these aren't very good.

SerenityNigh's odds: To win Miniscule; Top 4 ~0%; Top 7 3%; Relegation 45%

Brighton and Hove Albion--I think they have decent shirts.

SerenityNigh's odds: To win Miniscule; Top 4 ~0%; Top 7 1%; Relegation 45%

The Horse Punchers--HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH

(takes breath)

*quick reminder that nothing has been updated below despite recent news that Benitez will not return

AHAAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

SerenityNigh's odds: To win ~0; Top 4 ~1%; Top 7 8%; Relegation 30%

Sheffield United--I'd really like to watch Jagielka keep these up in his career swan song. And they're probably good enough to stay up on their own right. Remember, only 3 clubs can go down (unfortunately!) so they've got stiff competition at not being very good. I suspect they'll be ok.

SerenityNigh's odds: To win ~0; Top 4 ~1%; Top 7 3%; Relegation 24%

Just realized I left out two clubs. My apologies, for forgetting... who do we have... Burnley and Norwich. Ok then.

Burnley--there's really only room for 2 claret and blue clubs in the top flight and although I'd rather West Ham go down, Burnley are most like to drop. Sean Dyche will accidentally choke on his gravel breakfast in early October, but recover in time to take points from Everton.

SerenityNigh's odds: To win Miniscule; Top 4 ~0%; Top 7 1%; Relegation 45%

Norwich--your kid brings friends around the house and you generally like them because your kid likes them, but sometimes your kid has a friend that's annoying and a little snot-nosed, and if something happened to them you wouldn't immediately jump up to help because, well... welcome back to the top flight Norwich. I hope you enjoy your brief stay.

SerenityNigh's odds: To win Miniscule; Top 4 ~0%; Top 7 1%; Relegation 45%

Carabou Cup isn't even the most ridiculous name that competition has ever had

Really fancying the 6-4 on offer for Arsenal to finish in the top 4.

Emery v OGS v Lampard...

Look like they've made some good signings and already had much better firepower than the other two. Plus Spurs and the RS could easily fall off a cliff with a couple of injuries. That'll be my first long term bet for 19/20.

I've had a bet on Norwich not to have a 0-0 game all season. 9/1.

So lump on their first game to be 0-0 lids..

Digne to score 5 or more goals is also decent.
I'd like him on our pennos.
