Pre-season 2016

like when we played real, juve and valencia a couple of years ago?

3 seasons ago, organised by Moyes, and when the completion had less of a profile - none of the games were shown on UK tv. The only way to watch our games was via Everton TV.

Martinez has organised 2 pre-seasons so far, both a shambles.

Hastily thrown together friendlies at Prenton Park and crap like that.

No coincidence that Martinez best season (the 1st one) was after following a Moyes-planned pre season schedule & using a Moyes-drilled defence.

He can't be blamed for Singapore than was down to Mr Elstone, like all the rubbish pre season tours we attend, he didn't even want to go america would of rather been in SA but Spurs took less money and we got jibbed

Wouldn't mind a pre-season friendly against Forest/Notts/Derby. Enjoyed strolling 10 mins to see the Blues a few years back play Forest, Yakubu was shockingly overweight & immobile.

I'm a fan of not travelling abroad for pre-season, all this messing about travelling etc to try and tap into Yank/Thai markets despite it being a thankless task because they'll just support City/United/Livershite/Arsenal is pointless and exhausting. Leave them to do the box ticking.
Playing 4 or 5 UK based games then perhaps a "showpiece" friendly at Goodison against a big club will do.
Bournemouth and Leicester have both entertained Real Madrid in recent years at their home grounds.
Let's stay and hammer Southport & Tranmere.

östersunds FK are playing a friendly against our non-internationals this Wednesday. Wish we could see it

PRESEASON SCHEDULE

- Tranmere
- at Wigan
- Southport
- fly all the way to America to play Colorado Rapids
- some no-mark Irish side
Or, just maybe...

-Tranmere
-Man City (as per Stones sale agreement)
-Leeds
-fly all the way to America to play Colorado Rapids (as per Howard sale agreement)
-Bayern Munich ( as per Lukaku sale agreement)

Last years still makes me laugh, when we had like 3 games planned in 2 months and one of them was the other side of the world.

then it was who didnt have a game coming up, and can we arrange to go down there. Probably one of the biggest balls ups the club has done in recent memory, whoever fault it was should have been sacked.

Would love a few friendlies against the top clubs at Goodison, think Juve (who we have actually beaten under Martinez) or Real Madrid. Will be a couple of no-marks from tinpot leagues, though. Like St. Pats FC and some team from the German 4th division.

Perhaps one reason our 13/14 was so good was because our pre-season actually consisted of us challenging the top teams instead of lazing around against a bunch of nobodies and still win.

Being perfectly selfish I would like to see them in Scotland again, had a great day out at Hearts last year and saw Rom warm up with a hat trick, Ideally they should look at warm weather games (where the chance of niggly injuries are reduced) finishing with a testing, crowd pleasing fixture at Goodison.

I agree, I loved going to Edinburgh to see Everton play.

Would like to see a pre-season match against Celtic/Rangers as it's a bit closer to me than Edinburgh was.
