According to a government spokesman one of the safest spaces is an open air sporting event which is why they have not been panicked into shutting down football. Try keeping your hands to yourself.

Open air?
What about the concourses- suppose you have to hold your breath between the turnstile and top of the steps.

Anyone who’s been the toilet at the match knows the vast majority of fans do not wash their hands - old and young.

It’s a farce to think ‘open air’ events are safe and are certainly not totally open air.

Don’t think these experts have ever been to a match.

They have but it normally means prawn sandwiches , Prosecco and watching the game on a screen in a nice warm box with lamb shank for lunch

The whole thing isn't outside though- the state of our concourses and toilets are a disgrace, it's such close quarters. Clearly this is based on how Wembley, city, spurs etc are and not the reality of life for most of the teams in the country

Mental. Fans pass each other in the aisles, out their hands on wall in urinal, hands on rails on stairways... (imagine Newcastle?).

Cheltenham is gonna have what? 250,000 pass through this week?

I’m all for delaying as much as possibly, but how can an “open air” spectator event be safest?

It’s probably the worst.

Assuming that they will figure out an inoculation soon but in the rush to get it out to the public, not fully test it. It will result in millions of people becoming zombie-like mutants and death rates much higher than the virus..... too many movies.....

Spain closes all schools and all La Liga games to be played behind closed doors
What does Boris do , let a few thousand Spanish supporters travel to Liverpool and Manchester to be in confined spaces and on public transport , bars restaurants, music venues etc
Sure it’ll be grand once they wash their hands
