Potential ban on betting companies on shirts

I continue to hold the view that EFCs best global brand to sell is EITC

Although it's nice to see a positive article about the club for once, it seems a weird that they are giving praise for doing something every club does (having a charity on their shirt once a season - its even alluded to in the article), when we are one of the clubs that has a gambling sponsor. Maybe a case of the sub writing the headline without reading the article properly.

Anyway, to your point above, Usmanov should pay us a fortune to publicise EITC on the shirt. Anyone complaining about 'fair market value' then would look rather miserly.

Yeah, I couldn't tell if the story was opportunistic or half mocking or encouraging some kind of behind closed doors talk, but that was certainly noticeable.

I get it, and I think it's fantastic and I absolutely love EitC and all that it stands for... but we aren't exactly losing any money by promoting them on our shirts twice a year. If we really wanted to lead the way then we wouldn't sell the space on our shirts to some dodgy African gambling company in the first place.

New Premier League chief executive Richard Masters recently acknowledged football’s long relationship with betting companies, adding: “We’re certainly not sniffy about it; it’s up to our clubs whether they want to have their own gambling relationships.”

Dear me, what a thing to say. Unreal.
