I'm sure people have mentioned Gourcuff previously, still unattached. Could do a job short term ? However does appear to be injury prone. Can't afford many more on the sidelines.

yes, he was mentioned extensivly on the "Are there any free players out there that you'd like? thread".I'm sure people have mentioned Gourcuff previously, still unattached. Could do a job short term ? However does appear to be injury prone. Can't afford many more on the sidelines.
Merson saying we should have grabbed the the offer made for Stones,
Peter Reid praising Stones for staying, wasn't Peter Reid telling Stones to leave last week. ?
I'm more worried about the lack of comment from Aldo, I hope he's all right.Merson saying we should have grabbed the the offer made for Stones,

We have strengthened our depth quite a lot this window so that will help us. We are still a little light if Rom, Coleman or Baines has more issues but we're definitely stronger than last year. No europe too. When you put it like that it is encouraging.
This injury jinx we have needs to end though.

City aren't just a good bet for the Premier League.City have bought brilliantly. Yes they've paid massive fees - but they're a complete side again. Whoever finishes above them will have won the title this term, IMO
Yup, a lot of our current play isn't about just possession, it's been about trying to draw the opposition out and move them around to create gaps/space. The old plan against us of high pressing works less well against us now as we're more comfortable on the ball than we were, plus it leaves gaps behind so it's seen as a riskier policy. Teams have started to sit back against us, giving us the ball knowing we have little or no creativity to break them down so we'll get desperate and over extend at some point and then they can hit us on the break. From the signings made we're now set up to be a counter-attacking side - which is good.
We'll still dominate possession in a lot of games, but our main joy will come on the break.
However, as @davek said, we still lack that playmaker. It's the only disappointment this window - a striker would've been nice but it would've been a bonus really.

I fancy them in the champions league this year. Barca seem to be all at sea at the minute although January will help them and Rafael is at Real plus I'm still not convinced on Bayern or PSG.
Otamendi is a fantastic defender and we all ready know about their other signings in this window. I really don't see what weakness that team has except they perhaps don't have the very top world class players like Messi, Robben, Hazard or Ronaldo. But as a team they are solid.
Big wages. Huge signing-on fee. Poor fitness record. As good a player as he has been, I think it'd be too big a risk.
Missed nearly half the games since at Lyon - as bad a record as Gibson.
