imagine bills face when the bill came thro for mori!

'bob, you got your credit card on you?? this bill is saying £9.5m and you told me he was only £5.5m??, can somebody please double check this price. thanks'
9.5 mil for us means 3 mil u front the rest on the never never knock or drip payment

There are IMO two main reasons why we didn't get a playmaker.
1. The easy one, we are skint. There is a good chance we didn't have the amount of money needed to get that elusive playmaker Roberto have been looking for for the last year or so.

2. Roberto is looking for a very specific type of playmaker that maybe was not available. I think he is looking for a playmaker who can play from the wings, hence the reason Cleverly has been playing there, and honestly I can't think of many of players who can do that for a reasonable amount of money.

Yarmolenko would have been great but I don't think you would describe him as a playmaker, and let's be real the Cazorlas, Ozils, Silvas, Nasris, Hazards, De Bruyns and Matas of this world would probably cost 25M +

Henen and Holgate were bought for the future
Funes Mori - I've never seen him play so can't judge
Cleverley, Deulofeu and Lennon will all something to the first team

Distin and Alcaraz are no great losses

Overall, we are better off now than we were at the start of the window, but still lacking in a couple of key areas

Got a massive amount of respect for you Chico but 10?

Roberto banged on all summer about signing the elusive attacking midfielder. Had 3 months to do it and couldnt deliver. How anyone can rate it as 10 on that fact alone is beyond me.

Im giving it a 6 personally.
I give it a ten to fly in the face of acute geordieism on here mate.

In reality we won't know how good it was until around Christmas when we can reflect on the team and if any shortfalls could have been addressed now.

There's a big hoo har about transfer windows as its built up purposefully by the Sky bells and bought into hook line and sinker by what @milks today referred to wonderfully as the Loaded and Nuts generation who rate their own opinion far too highly.

Take last summers window where we bought Barry permanently (and God help me I'll vault you all wanting that to happen at the time), Lukaku and Eto'o. Loads on here declared it a boss window and we went on to be crud for the most part of the season.

So I'd rather be prudent and see how things go before passing judgement on the window itself. Did we finish with a stronger squad than we started it? I think that's a yes. Will be it be sufficient to improve us? Let's wait and find out.

It is being reported that Norwich offered 8 million for Naismith...

And it was turned down by EFC.

The bloke does his best and might have been a good fit for Norwich but he is in no
way worth that amount. Missed opportunuty to bank some serious money.

And leave us short with no replacement lined up mate. Get your point like but think it happened too late in the window.
