I don't think Ross has been all that good as a number ten tbh. He may have a future in centre midfield. I don't see him long term behind a striker.
We didn't get Yarmalenko but we tried. We'll get hiin January when Kiev are out of the Champions League and he's cup-tied, so to speak
Totally disagree. I remember us having to sell Jeffers, Ball.... Having to sell Rooney to 'save the club'.... Selling Lescott.... Selling Arteta because the banks needed the money...
The fact we didn't sell people & did keep our best players is a sea change from the norm.
What would you rather us do - sell Stones, McCarthy & Mirallas to finance a spending spree on 'glamorous' unproven signings?
Fact is, we spent over £20m on 5 new players. We spent money AND signed players.
His first season there, he was great. Last season, he wasn't. Has looked much better this season, so I'll respectfully disagree with you.
So the window is officially closed, and we've done quite a bit of business.
TRANSFERS IN:
Cleverley
Deulofeu
Henen
Holgate
Rodriguez
Mori
Lennon
TRANSFERS OUT:
Alcaraz
Distin
Long (and a few others kids)
We held off Chelsea for Stones. We didn't sign the #10 we wanted.
For me it's a decent window, and probably better than most windows we've had. Not selling Stones was a huge win, but not signing a door unlocker really puts a dark cloud on it.
Can't decide at the moment. Feeling like a 6/10...will decide later.
NEA to read through all the fume. One thought though...has Barkley's performance thus far reduced the need for Bobby to feel like he has to spend a bunch of dosh for a true #10?
Discuss.
So you're agreeing me and telling me that Martinez didn't have the money for one?
Thanks.
