Nobody would've thought a week ago when the transfer request was handed in that we'd still have Stones.

Deulofeu and Cleverley were great business. Unfortunately it created an early optimism coupled with the "no 10" comments by RM, only served to disappoint in the end. I hope Lennon can reproduce the same effort he shown last season, now that he got his permanent deal.

And as for those who wish we'd accepted that bid for Naismith, even though it represents a good return on a free transfer, we're not really in a position to let many players go. We've a small enough squad as it is.

I just hope the Funes Mori lad isn't another Per Kroldrup.

Well there is Paul Merson's transfer ratings for every Premier league club. Every club has been rated in the A's and B's, except one club who has been given a C. Yep you've guessed it!

And his reason for our "C" rating is bizarre in the extreme lol

Wow what a nob and I normally like merse. Why the frick should we bow down to the CL clubs constantly. I may agree with his grading for us but his reasons smack of bitterness that the media didn't get their way. Koff Mourinho, Koff Sky, Koff media. COYB!!

6. We have strengthened - and as we saw with Eto'o last year - it's not as simple as just picking a great player and slotting him in.

Hahaha...what a blert. The scary/sad bit is we have some on here that would agree.

It's the new generation though cheese. All you ever hear is what resale value someone will have, people don't seem to have the patience to build a side anymore which is what we are doing.

Still needed a playmaker this window though but keeping Stones was a statement of intent, Everton and WBA have made a stand here that should become the norm, players simply cannot throw their dummies out of the pram(Berahinio) to get their own way.

Paul Merson is an idiot shock!
How do people like him, Thompson, Redknapp etc get employment of any kind, never mind as having an insider knowledge of how football "works"

Gives me encouragement actually. Merson is thick, so his vote of disapproval is an A+ for me.

Another nobhead chastising Everton for having the temerity for keeping hold of a player.

Overall it's been a successful window, we have kept our best players and improved the squad.
We have added 4 full internationals and 3 young prospects all for the price of a Markovic or Lovren. Unfortunately we didn't get Yarmolenko, but at least they had a go. Keeping Stones was a huge statement too!

I wouldn't listen to that tit. More brain in a false face.

We haven't succumbed to media pressure and past player opinions. By Refusing to sell Stones, we put a massive middle finger up to that patronising tit Mourinho, and the media that march behind him.

I agree that this window has been far from perfect, but it is nowhere near a disaster.

Ahem.
