Listen just because the OP heard a (Chinese) whisper doesn't mean he heard the right facts. It's much more likely that Mr. Lau's want to "takeover the whole CATERING operation of Everton FC" and the source (or in this case definitely sauce) only heard part of the story.. Just because someone overheard a conversation and the person on this end of the line was saying: Philip, Green, New, Stadium, Chinese, Rich doesn't mean it's exactly what he thinks it means...

I can't see a takeover happening, I work in Liverpool city centre and know quite a few lawyers, accountants and bankers and there has been no rumors knocking about with them.

IMO unfortuantly as a business opportunity we are not that appealing (at the moment), some people might say neither where Man City, but they had £2b worth of development potential right on their doorstep (thanks to the super casino being pulled).
