Possible Goodison redevelopment.

Here is the last plans they released, 2021 so quite old now, we've had nothing since this. These are the 2nd maybe the 3rd plans released aswell, downgraded each time.

These plans for the old van yard behind the Bullens have been signed off, but obviously not the clubs land

For future reference - a few cgi’s of the origional scheme.

To be honest, I was horrified with the original CGI scheme. It would have been a truly awful legacy, nothing special. Albeit facilities to the community will be welcome but a sad way to go for Goodison. Much like many other clubs, last one being WHam Upton Park.

There's still time Everton to leave a proper legacy.

Demolish the main stand and park end... Main stand is quirky but outdated, park end is not worth saving.

Build small terrace stands on those sides and you'll have a small stadium perfect for the women's team that also protects the heritage of the place
Yes, this is exactly it. The Main Stand and the Park End have no architectural and little historical merit. The Gwladys and Bullens is what Goodison is all about. Keep those, refurbish as best you can, and build small terracing across the demolished stands.

This isn't the one I remember.

Had those atrocious blocks of flats at the Park End end.

Google is a seriously brilliant thing, I wish it existed when I was in school!

Make it into a massive Toyota sales complex, use this as a money laundering outfit for sponsoring the new ground for 55m million a year and Jersey sponsorship of a further 20 million a year. Haven't Chelsea gotten away with all kinds of hijinks, it's time for us to blag some extra income too.

I think womens attendances will only increase from now on, and if we knocked down the Main stand and improved the seating in the Bullens and Gwladys, we'd have a 22-25,000 seater stadium for them to gradually grow into.

Not a chance.

I think you forget why we're moving from Goodison in the first place, well one of the reasons. The Bullens Road was built 100 years ago. Gwladys St 1938. They're old stands.

I'd have thought the capital cost and ongoing costs of doing work at Goodison would be far greater than starting fresh at a smaller capacity venue like Walton Hall Park or another?

That section of Highbury was a listed building, so it literally couldn't be demolished. They have refrained from giving Goodison losted status precisely so that it can be demolished when it is finished with.
Taking my blue tinted glasses off, I just don't see how they're comparable.

Don't get me wrong, I love the place, but the Bullens Road facade is comparable to something you'd see from a pre war industrial estate. Mainly corrugated metal sheets with a bit of brickwork. Highbury was listed because the exterior is a fine example of Art Deco architecture.

The main feature of the Bullens is the Archibald Leitch truss. You could potentially work around that as a feature but I don't think it would work the same.

You also have to factor in the fact that Highbury is prime real estate. Working around the facade of that building would stack up financially and was viable. Much less likely to be viable in one of the poorest wards in the country.
