Possible dressing room unrest?

Past 2 seasons he has been way off his best and quite rightly lost his position to oviedo.

Total mess defensively on the left with his wandering.

Think he has spoken out as he knows he will be losing his place again and also has been dropped from the england squad.

Play better and keep your mouth shut...if he wasnt local and a long term player he would be getting loads of stick.
Lol, no. I highly doubt Baines would speak out against the manager because he's worried about his spot. Baines is one of the most quiet players on the squad, and I think his words carry more weight.
Don't shut up Baines, I hope him and Jags are just the first of many to speak out against RM.
I think Baines is being honest - personally I don't mind that at all.

I've heard that Jagielka apparently led the players out of the training ground with some criticising Martinez and his training methods.

Also something seemed odd in Jags' PMI. He was completely resigned, lacking confidence and belief. He almost looked like he'd been crying or something. The way we've played recently also seems to indicate there's something wrong behind the scenes.

Been told that the story about Jags leading a walkout is a load of blag.
Are you bipolar lad?

Isn't it just wonderful how the worst Liverpool team for eons thumping us 4-0 is actually a good thing for Everton?

I don't think we'll go down this season, I mean we're bad but we're not that bad.

Not sure about next season though. The "free points" teams will be gone, Boro are looking very strong and Burnley look much more dangerous than they were last season. Those other sides in the playoff places are loaded with quality too.
Do you need help?

One player we have had that was easily capable of playing at the very top level and playing well their who stayed mate, for that he can say what the hell he wants about whats going on - unlike others who spout off or talk bs in press conferences - he has earned that right at Everton

Absolute piffle.

haha oviedo is not a class lb baines is, he has been injured still is now consistently for years he has been one of our best players and stuck with us when he could of easily have moved on so fickle to not show some faith in him, he will come good he's playing better every game and is better than oviedo dont know how you can argue that if baines is fit he plays every time

I just think Jagielka has been weak as a captain and i find it very unprofessional for players to come out like Baines (and lukaku) in the press.

Lukaku knows he can get a big move and Baines probably fears hes going to get sold or dropped again for oviedo.

Very poor.

Alternatively Zat, may be Jagielka has realised has become apparent to some on here that we appear to have a manager who isn't willing to acknowledge his own now obvious deficiencies, a sign of weakness in itself ! Jagilelka, Lukaku and Baines all now know that Lukaku is off, probably along with John Stones! Finally may be Leighton Baines actually thinks far more of Everton Football Club than he does about the manager and has the balls to say something like he has!

I was backing Martinez until my mate, who was in Dubai when the training camp was on, got chatting to a bladdered Jags, who said that all the players hate Martinez. Said they complain, give suggestions and ask him to play differently, and he makes some changes for one game, then reverts back to his "philosophy" the next game.

There's also rumours of senior players and management clashing..could the be a ploy by Martinez to getting rid of those who don't buy in to his philosophy?

With Tim Howard gone Distin alleged dissent last summer also it could spell the end for one or two others who speak up.

use this to remove the stronger personalities from the group ?

That sounds like a load of bull to me, can see a situation like this going on though. Performances just kind of fell flat after the holiday, even against Villa in the closing stages I was afraid we were going to bottle it.

Howard this and last season, and Distin last season cost us so many goals. They were both finished 2/3 years ago yet he persisted with the,. Very strange behaviour indeed. There is no way he was picking them for footballing reasons.

Not necessarily the right thread but found this on twitter and should be pinned up in the player's dressing room:

Grammar gets a bit ropey at the end, maybe the author is choked up with emotion

Yeah loads - the hotels are proper little ale havens! you can't bounce around the streets drinking like, but i once got told about a "brunch" party apparently a big thing over there, at a hotel which was basically a vegas pool party with lots of stuff going on in the pools.
