Possible dressing room unrest?

Its amazing... so sensational and such a good opportunity for Martinez, i would be willing for him to hand his resignation now and go and work as an understudy till Del Bosque goes...

IT'D BE PHENOMENAL

More likely he will take it as an endorsement of his philosophy and continue to think the rest of the world is out of step :(

I was backing Martinez until my mate, who was in Dubai when the training camp was on, got chatting to a bladdered Jags, who said that all the players hate Martinez. Said they complain, give suggestions and ask him to play differently, and he makes some changes for one game, then reverts back to his "philosophy" the next game.
lollollol Jags looks to me like a fella who nervously glances over at his missus when anyone offers him a short after hes only had two beers. Theres apparently enough jangling going on amongst them that they should all have rollers in and their arms folded...traipsing into the dressing room saying "God, ....its terrible isn't it beaten again by garbage... OMG ". I don't have an issue with Baines speaking out. However they all, including him who has been poor since his return from injury, need to do their talking on the pitch now, get a grip and play to their strengths if theyre narked with Martinez's oddball instructions and realise the shirt theyre wearing. Glad Im an oul arse and saw real scruff of the neck grabbers like Labone, Bally, Reidy & Co

Maybe. But he had an absolute mare on Sunday. His words would carry a lot more conviction if he had actually played against Man Utd. My one-word response to last Sunday's limp insipid capitulation was "Baines." This was before he decided to blame the team and coaching staff before putting his hands up and saying he had a crap game. Vault me.
One player we have had that was easily capable of playing at the very top level and playing well their who stayed mate, for that he can say what the hell he wants about whats going on - unlike others who spout off or talk bs in press conferences - he has earned that right at Everton
I'm with bluestevon here lads.

Regardless of who is or isn't playing well, I'd prefer club personnel to say it as they see it unless it is detrimental to the club.

I'm not asking for or expecting everyone to agree, but I don't think lately people have been too convinced by the shallow "we need to do better" and "we'll end the season well" sound bites.

Baines words appear to be from the player rather than the press office. Whether you think that's good or not is up to you, I think it's good.

More importantly, I hope the points he makes are addressed.

Of course there is unrest. If you were a defender particularly you would be embarrassed by the goals conceded this season. Martinez has abandoned the defence since he became manager. In 3 seasons he has signed 2 senior defenders Alcarez( Says it all) and Mori. Stones has come through as a result of Distin fallout and he bought Galloway and Holgate for youth teams. No RB cover signed.

You're overlooking the good impression that Roberto made in his first season.

He introduced an original and exciting style of playing, using Baines and, in particular, Coleman, to take the ball forward. He signed Barry and McCarthy to provide defensive cover for the fullbacks - and Lukaku to score the goals.

2012/13 6 Everton 38 16 15 07 55 40 +15 63
2013/14 5 Everton 38 21 09 08 61 39 +22 72

The second season, opponents countered the system by pressing much higher. This season, Barry has successfully acted as the point of distribution, while Deulofeu and Lennon have provided the crosses for Lukaku. Despite this reduced reliance on the fullbacks in attack, the team has leaked goals.

The 1st season he inherited a good solid team
League stats of nearly 2 seasons on 21 PL wins out of 68 games and he is still here is remarkable
a mutiny of the players could be on the cards but they can [Poor language removed] off with the manager

Yes, but that first season he changed to the style of play to an original and exciting one of his own.

Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to show the same imagination as opponents have grown accustomed to our play.

With Barry playing a more important role taking the ball out of defence, we have looked good going forward this season, but...

Exactly, second season the opposition pressed the full backs and we had no alternative attacking routes especially with an inconsistent Barkley and Lukaku trying to improve his hold up play.

This season weve added Deulofeu and Lennon so we have the attacking on one side sorted but weak on the left of midfield and of course this season the full backs have been awful positionally even when back in line with the other defenders...

Yes some of the football under Roberto has been excellent and without doubt most of the defeats this season have been through individual mistakes
only Arsenal in the home fixture have Everton truly capitulated
but the stats and the table position do not lie ! Roberto says it is about performance not results he could not be more wrong and he will find that out when he gets sacked in the summer

He could be losing the dressing room, if he was OK with the players then he would have not reacted like he did to baines comments and would have already knew about how the players and feel and would have been OK with baines comments where he gone on the defensive and make a point that baines was wrong.
