Last season we suprised people with martinez and his philosophy, in previous seasons it was more compact and solid style. Substitutes seemed to fit in with little effort, playing with quick pace.

This season we have been figured out, teams sit back and watch us pass along the back line, into midfield and back to the back line, they then hit us with a goal and sit back again forcing us to play a little more open and leave gaps. The substitutes have been baffling at times, especially taking off Eto'o and mirallas for osman and mcgeady. There was no balance to the team.

I also dont buy into the whole europa rotation thing, especially when he rests players for the league but makes mccarthy play every game possible with a hamstring pull.

Squad roatation and substitutes are primarily there for resting players with knocks, not being nice to everyone by giving them game times.

Always go with your BEST ELEVEN that is FIT TO PLAY.

Paul, I think it's a complement that teams are having to work out special plans to try and stop us it shows how far we have come. I think with our strongest side out only the really best might have a chance of stopping us getting a result. Be careful people get very touchy on here if you mention everton have been found out, better to say teams are working their socks of to stop us playing.

The problem martinez has is that the subs he needs to be bringing on are normally on the pitch anyway! Take Eto'o, barkley, mirallas. you bring them three on during the second half vs spurs and we go all out and beat them. Having them on the pitch and bringing osman / mcgeady on means we cant win the game.

We were out fought and tactically got it wrong, combined with self errors which led to goals.

a tiring spurs with those three i mentioned coming on to run a tthem is entirely different to mcgeady and osman being our reinforcements.

Never been critical of the manager before but taking Besic off tonight was disgraceful. The lad had a great game yet he got the hook before a walking goal conceder in Barry or another useless Osman performance. Pathetic and cowardly decision.
