2 individual defensive mistakes did for us yesterday, I can't remember the last time we went to OT & had more possession than the home side, as we did this year.

Their performance yesterday was how you win titles. Efficient and controlled. Everton barely had a chance, they took advantage of our mistakes at the back and then basically killed the game off.

Watching Johnny Heitinga stand over Van Persie on the half way line offering a hand to help him up, while Giggs was trying to take a quick free kick in to the space left behind, just about summed the game up. One team was purely focussed on getting a result and the other seemed happy to be there.

I think you're giving them too much credit tbh, as we were the better side for around 30 mins after they scored. They defended very well during that period & we lacked a cutting edge, with Victor & Osman having off days. The 2nd goal right on the stroke of HT killed us, but it was a defensive howler from Neville that lead to it, same as their first goal was school boy defending from Heitinga.

After the break they just stiffled the game.

Our results away at Anfield, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Highbury/The Emirates since Moyes took charge.

Played: 48.
Won: 1 (F.A Cup against Chelsea...before being knocked out at home by Reading).
Drawn: 17.
Lost: 30.

Now, i'm not saying I expect us to roll up at these places and snot them all over the show, but for a team trying to attain Champions League or even Europa League status this statistic needs looking at, it's absolutely appalling and the list of teams that have left these places with results will no doubt be a sickener.

Villa getting 3 at Anfield and Swansea getting 0-2's at Stamford Bridge and The Emirates this season alone shows you that we should be doing better.

Liverpool have only taken 15 points out of 63 at OT? But, but, but...this is the "biggest game in English football"...the British El Classico.

As I said efficient and controlled. They got their lead and then made sure they didn’t concede. Let’s be fair here, it was a near perfect tactical display from United, from their point of view. With City getting beat, Ferguson made sure they got the result yesterday and he didn’t set out to entertain, just to make sure they went 12 points clear. They started at a high tempo which Everton struggled to contain, and then, once they got their goal they sat tight and started to switch their side around to make sure we didn’t create any chances, by taking our better players out of the game.

Bar Osman’s volley did we really have a chance? Perhaps if Mirallas had have picked Victor out. I think you are being harsh on Victor really, he was basically playing upfront alone, with next to no support, against one of the best defenders around in Vidic, feeding off scraps. Normally Felli would be there as well but with Jones all over him Felli was finding himself in different areas of the pitch. Baines wasn’t able to get forward due to Valencia’s concentrated efforts and Pienaar is always ****e if he can’t pass to Baines. We could have played Drogba upfront yesterday and it sounds like you’d have criticised him.

Ferguson, FA and the refs are all corrupt according to RAWK, in reality they should have got 63 if the game was played fair.

Oh yes, the media are in on it as well.

which away ground have we took most points from in the premier league? Anyone know?

Possession stats mean sweet fa, we were as toothless as a limp penis in the final 3rd. You can't go to these grounds and expect to get something if you don't have the courage to give them something to think about at their end. This is Everton under Moyes in a nutshell, particularly when we play the big teams away from home, we just never go looking to score goals so inevitably end up chasing the game. It's frustrating becuase the evidence is there if you attack these teams, they are vulnerable as we ourselves proved at Old Trafford last season. Utd are as vulnerable as any other team at home and that side they picked yesterday with a 39 year old and Phil Jones in the middle of the park was there for the taking

Howard Webb robbed them of 30 points because he's a south yorkshire bizzy, lad.

I agree that a penalty shoot out is not winning a game. The game after 90mins was equal, after 120mins still a draw. So we never won the match we only won a shoot out. Like in the old days a flick of the coin sent teams through to the next round (Europe) and that does not constitute winning a match only winning the toss up. Same applies to penalties in my book but others may look differently at it.

^ funny.

It doesn't make the defeat any better, but it's worthy of note, as we usually defend on the edge of our own box for 90 mins hoping for a set piece & hanging on for grim death.

At least we had a go yesterday, it was notable that Uniteds best moments came on the break against our high line.

Quite. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Had we sat back and looked to sneak a goal there would be folks having a go for being negative.

For quite some time that was our approach against the big teams under Moyes, but the last few seasons that's changed and we're competing on a more level footing.

We didn't get a result on Sunday, and given their record at home that's far from a disgrace, but lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater here. There's a tremendous amount of knee jerking going on whenever we lose a game, or even when we win a game in an unconvincing way.
