6 + 2 Point Deductions

We may hear the odd leak, maybe sunday, if anyone is actually in wherever the accounts are confirmed to. Whatever way we hear Monday, like its been said for that date the last few weeks. It seems a few teams may be in trouble, if you were to belive things - Though going by things the last few weeks, more than one person reckons we are ok this 2nd one - but we will see.

New guidelines introduced by the Premier League meant all clubs had to submit their accounts for 2022-2023 by December 31, rather than March. Any breaches and subsequent charges will be confirmed this coming Sunday (January 14) — although the rules state this should be on the next working day, meaning Monday is more likely.

So we will just deduct Everton the right amount of points to relegate them after the season is finished

Two things from this. First, it lets the independent commission decide after the season who is relegated. Any bit of corruption and its not completely in their hands. Second, it seems this means that last years accounts were all given to the league by December 31st. And it implies that on January 14th the league will confirm any punishments. If there ARE to be punishments this season, they will have a hearing in April to decide them. January 14th could be very interesting. Im curious to see this next step on how the league manages to systematically destroy its credibility.

I’m not sure any more. Initial reporting was that it was just clubs who had lost more than £15m over three seasons.
Now places are reporting all clubs.

Seems sections E.49-E.50 are relevant, but I can’t say with any conviction what the situation is:

Looks like it came from the Daily Mail back in August.

Will your team be breaching financial regulations?

Stay tuned to find out sports fans!
