Namdrater

Player Valuation: £15m
Everton have made an approach for Zenit St Petersburg striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, according to the player's agent.

Toffees manager David Moyes is thought to be scouring the market for an attacking recruit as he looks to compensate for the long-term injuries to striking duo Aiyegbeni Yakubu and James Vaughan.

Russia international Pogrebnyak is a rumoured target with reports in Tuesday's press suggesting scouts from the Merseyside club will take a closer look at his qualities when he lines up against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old's representative, Oleg Artemov, said in the Daily Star: "I have been approached by Everton and several other English clubs."
I'd have him. Another good Russian striker and another yak! :P

this is a step up from Nugent, Larsson, Heskey and co.

Hopefully the board have found a few million to throw Moyes' way in January. Saha can't be relied on yet because of his record with Injuries and Anichebe doesn't last a full match.

Classic English centre forward type, wins flick ons, strong can hold up the ball and lay off for our runners.

He featured for Russia quite prominently in the Euro 2008 qualifiers if I'm not mistaken.

I never saw much of him in the qualifiers but he was injured in the actual tournament, which pissed me off as I had him in my fantasy team for Euro 08 before I realised he was out. but he IS absolute quality, after following Zenit throughout the UEFA cup it was clear to see he is a top draw striker. He scored loads in the UEFA cup

Excellent news if true, but we all know what all this paper talk turns into.

You never know, at least he's a class above the usual dregs we're linked with.

Zenit were dissapointing this season (just finished) in Russia, only managed 5th and will have to qualify to even be in the UEFA Cup (Europa League) next year.

Also, if Abramovich has told Scolari he can't have any money to spend in Jan, could be bad for some of the other big Russian owners.

Figure it's another no-substance, tabloid page-filler - but not many of us saw the 15m wedge getting thrown for Fellaini, so until something happens, none of us will really have a clue...

We all knew the money was there from player sales though, this time we have to hope blue bill finds a few million in a pocket of one of his old jackets he hasnt worn for 5 years

True, we're not exactly brimming with sellable players that we can afford to do without so there's not much hope of raising much fundage for new buys - flog Baines/Hibbert maybe?!...

Perhaps another loan whilst the interest rates are rock bottom?!...
