Awesome, lid.
So JohnnyDawg it appears the American media can think for themselves?
I've found an outsider's perspective is normally the best.
For many US domestic issues I normally read BBC or Al Jazeera.

Something that Mourinho brought in whilst in charge at Porto that they have continued since is the visiting dressing room is adorned with images of porto success, lifting titles, historic wins all photographed and emblazoning the room, and pictures of the porto fans/crowd all over the place, really intimidating, kinda showing all visiting teams 'this is who your facing'
Our away dressing room is abysmal, too. Worse than a school gym's changing room.I like it, we do a similar thing in that the away team literally arrive, go straight down a dingy corridor and into their dressing room, so there's no opportunity for them to inspect the pitch or mingle with other players etc...

Ah.....so it isn't an "unbiased" article then....the guy is one of our own
TBH, I don't think there is a great mediua bias against Everton.
In normal circumstances they would be loving the way Everton are going under Roberto.
The guy is a meejah person's dream.....photogenic, charsimatic, articulate and succeesful.
If Moyes had left to manage Bayer Leverkusen or Ajax Amsterdam or even Spurs or Chelsea or some such club then Everton and Roberto would be screaming at you from the back pages.
But there is a reason this isn't happening, IMO.
Because to do that shows Manchester United's hierarchy and the manager they appointed in a very bad light.
And if there is one thing no one should be in any doubt over, there is s very substantial pro United bias in the fotball press in this country and by extension, the mainstream football press in the Englush speaking world.
We were supposed to "fall apart" under Roberto.
Because Ferguson's "Chosen One" had kept "plucky little Everton" afloat.
For the press to trumpet how vastly different it has been thus far is for them to admit they were wrong for so many years.
And that ain't going to happen
As ever, all IMO.
I almost agree with that. Just the bit in bold I don't.
The media didn't praise Moyes for keeping us afloat (not that I saw anyway), they normally praised Moyes for beating one of the big spenders, or for building a quality squad capable of challenging for European places, against a background of sell to buy in a league of billionaires.
For me, they were right to do so, that's no mean feat.
That Martinez is doing better is not a reflection of Moyes ability, only of Martinez's even better quality.
No reason at all why the media should feel they would be doing wrong in saying Martinez has improved us, and personaly I would say we are receiving a lot of positivity in the media lately.
...it is a good read, wonder if he copy and pasted the narrative from this site.
Moyes was a good manager. At times very good. At other times below average. Martinez is a GREAT manager.
I read him a lot, have similar wonderings both with him and guys like Rog Bennett... certainly these guys are lurkers even if they don't post regularly, right?

Is that not a tiny bit premature?
We are not even half way through his first season.
