I was merely comparing two periods of five consecutive Everton seasons. On a number of levels, my comparison illustrates how Everton has changed. I hoped it would spark some debate, which it did for a while.

You're running with a narrative that we were better off under Moyes. There's been some catastrophic appointments at our club, I won't argue with that. But if your panacea is that, Moyes is the answer. I've heard more convincing arguments from flat earthers.

Nope, that's what you have read into the narrative, and that's okay. I left it open for interpretation. What I was trying to highlight was how, even though we have had a lot more money to spend, Everton have performed worse recently compared to when we were poor. I was interested to find out why that was?

The likes of Maddison, traore, Daniel James, all came from the the lower leagues

That's a very good point.. Instead with our new found wealth we seemed to have forgotten the market and gone for absolute overpriced junk from European leagues oh and Arsenal reserves.
