Playing without a target man

In hindsight signing Klasnic was an admittance that we wouldn't be getting a target man in, the plan will be to counter attack at pace in the first phase and camp out in front of the defense with intricate passing to find an opening.

Why is DCL more suited in your opinion if you don't mind my asking?
His touch, control and link up play. Also his work rate. Liukaku had other abilities that make him a special player and I would have him back in a heartbeat, but he isnt and will probably never be a target man.

We've been playing without one for years. We'll be fine.

I'm actually quite confident going forward. We've got some pace now with Sandro, Vlašić, Lookman, DCL, Lennon, Bolasie when he returns...
Our midfield is stacked.
Defence has improved from last year. Keane and Pickford are class.

Coleman has yet to return, Funes Mori as well. Holgate looks like a prospect.

I don't expect us steamrolling anytime soon but the foundation for a great team is there. We've got bright young talents that will grow into great players in a couple of years and we've got the experience to link it all up. The team itself has yet to gel. We've brought in a lot of players so try to be patient. Europa league will serve as a test and as an improvement for our squad.

And we've got bloody Gylfi

Looking forward to Spurs.

France won the world cup without a proper centre forward.

We have plenty of players who can finish well. I think Mirallas would play well in the centre also.

In terms of midfield, we have more quality than in years.

You need lots of pace and fluidity. Koeman signed players to play a target man system. He was screwed over.

He screwed himself over. He knew Rom was going, it should have been one of his and Walsh's first acquisitions of the summer. And if he did sign all these players to play a system with a target man, then he should've gotten one even if Rom stayed!! Otherwise what would've happened if Lukaku got injured?
