2 hrs later I'm outside having a smoke and his agent is struggling to reverse the car out of the front entrance bay. I of course helped them to reverse out and waved them on their merry way not realising they were driving to the airport to go and do a deal with Valencia.
Not sure why they were at the Marriot, most players used to stay at the L1 Hilton.
But yeah, if I'd known he was going I would have reversed him straight into the wall by St George's Gardens and kept him there

honestly mate, my missus (rs) still takes the piss out of me for it. Went upstairs, told everyone and even a few rs family had come down and saying "you'll be a good signing for the Blues". Sitting there, Billy Big Balls made up with myself, even went upstairs to tell the missus "yeah, just helped them get out of the front entrance as the agent wasn't a good driver".What a tit I am
