players slipping

Over watered pitch yesterday. I was speaking to a Saints fan who said that it had rained heavily the day or night before and they then watered the pitch again before the match. Probably to stop us playing our skilful game.

That was an old trick Ferguson used to employ, it makes the ball pick up speed as well so its quite hard to judge a pass. He used to have the training ground over watered so his players were use to it

Maybe the new synthetic pitches might have something to do with it? I can't imagine a stud would be able to penetrate as deep on a synthetic pitch than on a traditional grass pitch.

*waits for joke about penetrating me mar's grass pitch*

I'm in favour given this that all our lads were those gym plimsolls with absolutely no grip on them for the City game to test the theory its not the footwear but the pitch causing slips

If that costs them the league I will delight in watching it over and over again.....AND he manages to take Skrtel out with his celebration!

Stones slipped for the 3rd goal against palace which cost us a point at least, pretty sure he's slipped for another goal early on in the season too.

Will ask my mate what he reckons..... He is the head groundsman at st marys and just won the award for the best pitch in the prem... Again! Wins it every year for whatever division they're in... Been trying not to talk to him as he is a massive rs fan
