The commentators stated how well the pitch was, immediately after that two players (one from each side) slipped down. It was absurd, both teams were sliding everywhere.

For some reason, Michael Owen went into some depth on this, reckons the pitches were sand based and as a result were very hard. Stated that once watered, they were very slippy...
Obviously had nothing else to comment on.

.....I have to say that modern surfaces are unbelievably firm. Anybody who gets a chance to walk on the likes of Finch Farm will immediately notice. The fact that they are watered so heavily before the game is the cause, but we can't complain too much with stevie g laa yesterday. As well as slipping, I'm convinced it is the reason why there are so many knee injuries these days. Bring back the mud.
