That sort of performance highlights exactly why he's out on loan. He's a one trick pony still and really needs to add more to his game. His touch is poor which led to at least 2 broken counter attacks. His hold up play is still poor, might even have gone backwards. And in the air he's pretty poor too, which I think is mostly due to his attitude, he just doesn't compete unless it's dropped right on top of him.

He is good at running in behind although didn't get much chance today and his dummy runs do drag defenders around, so he is occupying defenders some of the time.

Still very much a work in progress.

Yeah he didn't exactly have me bemoaning the decision to loan him out on that performance. I think he could have been useful for us as a sub to throw on when needing a goal because he does have that spark in the box and can finish if a chance arrives, but based on the 2/3 times I've seen him this season I think the people who insist his all round game is better than Maupay, and even Rondon, are just being wishful at the moment. Hopefully he keeps learning on this loan and gets better, but at the moment he's not a regular PL striker.

These young players are out on loan because they are not ready to play Premiership football at present.... some never will be.

We could have kept them at the club and they would get a few minutes on the field now and then but in general they would get nothing like the experience they are getting while out on loan.
