Interesting article on the Echo, rating each player's contribution vs the team overal average this season so far.

I'm not normally a fan of the player by player, match by match ratings, but when you have all the data and are able to view relative scores then it removes the match to match biases and begins to show a clearer picture.

Consistently good performances from Barry & McCarthy stand out immediately.

I have no ill will toward Heitinga, but that is a crock.

Heitinga gets 5/10 on account of not playing, then an extra 2.2 based on fist pumping and clapping the fans loads.

Completely fair IMO.

Obviously you'd want to add some filters for minimum sample size for it to be meaningful.
