Surely there is nothing sussed about awarding a World Cup to a country with a climate wholely unsuited to hosting top-level football, with no stadia as yet completed, a questionable human-rights record, little infrastructure around hosting millions of football fans, and a nation in itself with zero footballing pedigree.

It was probably one of the most brazen, blatant displays of high-level corruption I have ever seen. Amazing that they felt so untouchable

Reports coming in of Michel Platini being arrested regarding the awarding if the 2022 World Cup to Qatar. Who'd have thunk there'd be something suss about that hey??

All those big AFL / Cricket ovals are really suited to a game played in a small rectangle - not.
Where money talks on ground selection for the RL final. The Sydney Cricket Ground...an effing big Oval, capacity 46k Vs Lang Park (Suncorp) Brisbane a proper rectangle ground, capacity 52k...a boomerangs not the only bent thing around.

Oh and if you shout too loud, not inappropriate, rude, sexist, racist, homophobic etc, just loud, then a behavioral awareness officer with have you thrown out in case you might up set some snowflake

Ah apologies, I misread what you wrote.

I think you're probably exaggerating a bit based on some instances of it happening in their domestic sports. I doubt they'd chuck fans out of the ground for singing songs at a football match... especially the world cup where it's critical for the host nation to sell a 'world cup atmosphere' to the rest of the world.

I think it would be a great place to hold it, they have the infrastructure, they've done the Olympics, they've never hosted a world cup. Go Aussie
