Pigs in the trough, again

If they take money away from the teams outside the top six then they are signalling the end of the Premier League and the birth of a European Super League. It is difficult enough for the team's outside of the top six to compete. Indeed would it be worthwhile for teams to come up from the Championship and try to compete. It may get more cost effective to come out of the Championship and keep your team together and accept that you are likely to be relegated rather than spend just to not be relegated.
To give the top six a bigger share of the money is to ensure that top six stay as the top six. I would imagine that it would only be a matter of time before the other clubs start to think about setting up their own division without these six. They could go off to Europe and play in a super league and develop teams which have no connection to their fan base or the countries from which they come.

Weren’t it a couple of seasons ago, the most watched premier league game of the season was Cardiff vs Swansea?

Maybe I see this the wrong way.

The reason the PL is so marketable isnt because United play City every other week. Its cos its competitive. With several well branded/nouveax riche clubs, with a wide fan base, being a bigger draw than Burnley. Or us, currently.

But the genius of the PL is that its a collective organisation. Being a member of the league, by default, catapults any clubs global reach.

Exhibit A. Leicester City.

If a German version of Leicester had won the BL, would that have captured the imagination of the sporting world? I doubt it.

They're only watched because they're in the premier league. Let united play Liverpool twenty times a season and see how much value they bring.

You'd be surprised how popular that would be. They do it in Belgium. Top six play each other umpteen times, very full stadiums etc.. . Very good for the bigger clubs; the other teams play a sort of pre-season friendlies for a significant part of the season and struggle with filling their stadium.
