Who knows I would be surprised if we had no encouragement before we made a bid. But yeah likely he will sit tight till Spurs come in and he goes to you but if they don't or don't match the fee then....

Spurs may not want him but if they do he may not want to join them as think he can join a bigger and better club than Spurs?
If he waits 12 months and becomes a free agent he will also get bigger and better offers from bigger clubs across Europe?
