I'm hearing £4.5m

Everton: "Oh hi Spurs, this is one of our better players. He won't resign with us would you like him for £2.5m?'

Spurs: 'Dont really need him, won't play him really, but yeah I guess so. Ta'

------
Spurs: 'Oh hi Everton, you know that guy you sold us and we never played him? Well he wants to come back to you. How does ££2m more than we paid sound?'

Everton: 'but......but..you..but..'

Spurs: 'yes or no?'

Everton: 'loan?'

Spurs: 'yes or no?'

Everton: 'yes'

At least thats how I imagine the negotiations went.

Given his worth to our team, I don't think we could've expected any more than that. we've just paid £4.5m for player easily worth double.

I bet that is the exact conversation mate. Serious.

Can I just add, I didn't say £4.5m was bad. It's just when you look at it, it is a bit mental that we pay £2m more for him. But there are a lot of mitigating circumstances as to why.

Like Daniel Levy being a dick for example.

This is Spurs we were dealing with here. We were always going to get shafted by these c*nts. Not to say he'll not be worth every penny - he will. He'll bed straight in, already has a fantastic partnership with Bainesy (priceless really) and will give us two or three years' quality service and creativity.

A number of years left on his current Spurs contract as well, whereas he only had 6months when he left us

Greg O'Keefe confirmed it.

Medical on Monday, all being well signing completed on Tuesday.

Do we have to give any credit to the lad who started the "Breaking News" thread? Tuesday was a v specific day for him to pick and it's now been confirmed that Tuesday is indeed the day

If we've paid more than the original deal to the tune of 4.5m it's symptomatic of the decision making that sees us in penury. Gosling's contract, Bellefield to Finch Farm remortgaging everything, DK costs, Merchandising - just rank bad management from start to finish.

Ignore this stuff if you like but while we've got people making decisions like this every transfer window will be the same.

Bahahaha, have to laugh at some of the misery here - FFS, choose life!

The clubs been on the brink for ten years now - they are even doing a bad job of fecking that up! lol

Welcome home Stevie P - your officaly de-snided.

I personally will be absolutely delighted to see Pienaar back but the 'business strategy' of the whole deal is frankly crazy. to allow a player to run his contract down to six months and refuse to give him the wages he's asked for whilst giving more to another player (a fact of which Pienaar was clearly aware) then to sell him , before loaning him back then buying him for almost twice what we sold him for when he has almost zero sell on value whilst I imagine he new wages will almost certainly be what he asked or in the first place (if not more) not to mention the ancillary fees to agents etc.... This is a player we'll have signed four times if you count the two loan signings and who has played I think 104 of his last 114 league games for us and who we effectively loaned to spurs for 6months (actually spent at spurs) for a cost to us of about £2m.

I'll be really pleased to see Pienaar back and I think he's vital for our side & I certainly don't want to take any shine of what any of us feel when he arrives but if you look at it dispassionately as a business/transfer strategy it's absolutely crazy! However if you look at the difference he's made to our side when he's been in it that the positive that we have to keep in mind.
