Pienaar

He's old, that worries me.

But if we can get another 3 good seasons out of him then, well, I'd have to agree. Take it on the chin -- we'll soon forget about the financial one-up for Spuds when he's back, ripping teams into shreds week in, week out.

He'll still be good well into his 30s, and even if he only gives us three great years that could be the difference between Europe three seasons in a row.

This i key for me. I'd be loathe to buy him back for more than we sold him, but I think you'd have to do it as getting him in could be the difference between 7/8th and 5/6th. Extra prize money and EL revenue would soon cover the extra we paid to get him in...

modern day footballers who keep in shape and do the right things health wise can play on a lot longer now, 30 is nothing you could get a full contract out of a 30year old.

Only just saw the interview. I teared up myself when he said "I didn't get to say goodbye last time..." Not that he wanted to say goodbye last time, but you can really tell he knows how badly he f**ked up.

One thing that might keep the price down is Pienaar telling Spurs he wants to go. Spurs put him on the market for £11m. Clubs similar to Spurs come in for him. Peanuts rejects them all until Spurs finally have to accept an Everton offer of £6m.

Look at neville hes 35 and still plays a big part in the team . Pienaar and donovan for the next 4 years would be great. Sell rodwell for 8 million and get them in

I hope he comes back i really do bloody great little player.

He looked like he wasn't expecting/didn't think he deserved the welcome back that he got in the end and has been overwhelmed. Shows what a good team spirit can do. Mark of a really boss club/supporters, btw.

Dempsey will be too expensive. Get Donovan in along with Pienaar and we'll be looking at challenging for 4th place.

The opposite is probably true. Spurs desperately need him off the wage bill to try and fund the wages of Adebayor and Modric, among others.

I imagine they'll hold off any decisions until they know what Modric, Bale et al. are going to do, and that's likely to drag on. We're essentially reactive in most transfer situations. Still, I'd prefer to be wrong.
