Pienaar to return?

Harry bought him so he could line his off shore account with any excess he made on a transfer. Hence his £6 mill price tag less than 6 months after signing for just £2 mill.

Pienaar got mugged off, and he let it happen. The bright lights on London and knocking around with the likes of Huddlestone and Crouch might not have turned out to be all they were cracked up.

He has to earn his place in the eleven, no waltzing straight back in like the cock of the wok.

I dont rate him as a player at all. People think for some reason he is a world class player, and he isnt. He played well in our squad because he had such a great relationship with Baines, and if that carries on then great. Spurs brought him in thinking he would fit into their midfield and then he never played because he didnt impress in a team where they have far more better individuals that what we have.

Can't really be bothered to look through this entire thread for the answer to my question, not even sure if it's there to be honest but is Steven Pienaar Cup tied in the FA Cup? Has he played for Spurs at all in the competition?

If we get through to the quarter finals we wont have pienaar or donovan to help us get further. Over to drenthe and osman to create for us

i always liked pienaar and he stepped up when arteta was out for half a season and he will do it again. made up to have him back.

Your saying he should have waved goodbye to 1m after tax? Are you really that naive? Would you do it? Im an Everton fan, but if Spurs wanted to pay me 1m extra and give me a bigger platform to showcase my talents, I would be off like a rat up a drainpipe. I honestly dont see why people cant see the reasons he moved, if it was money, we all need money, anybody that says they would have stayed at Everton, kissed goodbye to an extra mill needs to check themselves in for a CAT scan ASAP.
First off I'm not mad at him and welcome him back. That said, I hear this argument all the time and I really don't understand it. I know lots of people who turn down more money for a variety of reasons (they are happy in current job, they don't want to move cities). Some people act like it's hardly ever done when I know lots of people who have done just that.

Probably quite a bit of truth in that. I'm sure he was fine with him for squad depth and for emergencies but the fact he was available for under his market value (with a new contract) could have played a part.

I was wondering where the posters have gone that said he wasn't all that, and Baines made him look good.

They're a bit quiet now hes back like

I don't understand the dislike for the man some people on here seem to have. He's not an Evertonian, he honoured his contract without whining to the media, played his heart out even when he knew he was leaving, went to a side competing in the Champions League and got payed more money to do it. What's so wrong with that?

Also, I've heard, from my reliable sources, that it looked like Bale was going to AC Milan so they bought Pienaar as a replacement but the Milan deal fell through. I bet he was told when he signed for Spurs he would be playing regularly if Bale left, which looked very likely at the time.

He ran his contract down, got his agent to find the juiciest contract out there (because we wouldn't pay him £75k a week) and left six months before his contract was due to expire thereby depriving the club of a decent compensatory transfer fee.

A year of not playing football later he's back in the city hoping to pick up the pieces.

If we do get him back on a permanent (which is doubtful because Spurs will want 3 or 4 million) we may get a little bit more loyalty this time round. Who knows. I think its a mental block with these lads. Earn 5% more somewhere else? I'm off.
