dont care not liked him for awhile now coz he didnt sign a contract hes had 1 good season and thinks hes worth the same as cahill or arteta ... sooner he goes the better and just to add i hope his career goes downhill like it did at dortmund... he doesnt score or set much up anyway so its not a big loss.. felli arteta cahill baines jags is a bigger loss

Good player who wasn't going to be here in 6 months. They got some money for him. He's not irreplaceable.

At least he was honest about Sunday's match.

Onwards and upwards blue boys, nobody is irreplaceable. Moyes will work something out, Billy, Gueye, victor. We have bodies that will fill the spot. Start planning for next season...

Anyway Mr Pienaar, thankyou for your service, you've done well for us. Hope you dont spend the rest of your career sitting on a bench wasting your talent.

We can't expect everyone that comes to Everton to fall in love with the club and want to stay until the end of their career. Sure some do like Cahill and hopefully Arteta, but to others while they may enjoy their time with us they'll want to move on and explore pastures new. Pienaar came to us for a small fee, gave us 4 years of his effort and ability and now he's decided to move on. Good luck to him. I wish he'd stay obviously but it's not to be. We'll just have to continue to support the ones who do want to be here.

Careful lads.

I don't recall ANYWHERE the Bible says that you aren't allowed to try an earn the best possible wage for yourself. Unless you learned folks can show it to me, I'd refrain from Christian references. Seriously.

I'm laughing at people on here who are having a go at him for trying to get the best wage possible because SURELY they wouldn't do that for themselves right?

Oh, but TX Bill, he's a footballer and they earn enough already. Don't make me laugh. Next time you go ask for a raise or try to get a better paying job, I'll tell YOU that you earn enough already and that you're being a "greedy [Poor language removed]".

It's threads like these that frankly, embarrass me as an Everton supporter. And some of us call kopites "deluded." If you have a real problem with footballers trying to earn the most that they can earn, then you might want to find another hobby because this won't be the last time you see this happen in football.

You don't like that he's leaving us. No problem. Don't like that he didn't play today. No sweat. Don't like that we don't have any money to spend on a replacement. Fair enough. But here's one undeniable fact. Steven Pienaar didn't drop us in the grease like Lescott did and has played every match for us with 100% effort.

What more do you want?

Someone might want to remind him of Mathew 19-24 then.

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

He ducked out of a derby and has purposely ran down his contract to get a few extra thousand for himself. If Spurs wouldn't have upped their bid I don't doubt he would have waited until the end of the season to deny us a fee and get him some extra money.

He's a self serving sh*thouse mate.

nice quote azul very apt

3million for a player with 6 months left? So we also save out 40k a week too? Not a bad days work at all.

He can only be going for the money - I honestly can't see how he will get into Spurs first team - Bale will be first choice on the left and VDV in the centre. I think he will be another who will leave and see his career go downhill.

Anyway I hope it goes through quickly so we can get the funds in for a decent striker and maybe another defender.

I have to agree that I can't see his career progressing much if he goes to Spurs, as said he isn't going to shift VdV or Bale, and I'm not sure he could play on the right, as his game focuses on moving into the middle.

I asked this this afternoon..Why are we still wasting time on this greedy fk...Lets spend some time who we can replace him with...Looks like Moyes will be given the funds the strengthen the squad..I am hoping Mr Hammil is one of those players..

hammil defo and jennings we could get the pair for 3 mill . i would not be grumbling at all with this .
