I bet he still picked up his wages this week though.

He should have done it for the fans, he knows how much that game would have meant for us, he could have gone out a hero instead he just wasnt arsed, am i the only one who sees how utterly wrong that is, not worthy to be called an Evertonian.

I agree mate. I've said for a while. HIS SNIDE AGENT'S GOT ALOT TO ANSWER FOR.

Good riddance when he goes, i dont blame his agent for today, i blame him, that was two fingers to the fans and thats not right, he knew what that game meant to the tens of thousands of fans who have chanted his name for four years. He turned his back on us on Derby day - i will never forgive him for that.

I know what response i would get if i didnt show up for work tomorow with my excuse being "im finding it really stressfull to choose between cake and ice cream."

Most people would get a written warning as to their conduct.

He's picked up twice what the average person takes home in a year.

Not to mention the drink driving and assault charges (I think?) to go with it, most employers don't look too kindly at that.

Greedy prick.

Careful lads.

I don't recall ANYWHERE the Bible says that you aren't allowed to try an earn the best possible wage for yourself. Unless you learned folks can show it to me, I'd refrain from Christian references. Seriously.

I'm laughing at people on here who are having a go at him for trying to get the best wage possible because SURELY they wouldn't do that for themselves right?

Oh, but TX Bill, he's a footballer and they earn enough already. Don't make me laugh. Next time you go ask for a raise or try to get a better paying job, I'll tell YOU that you earn enough already and that you're being a "greedy [Poor language removed]".

It's threads like these that frankly, embarrass me as an Everton supporter. And some of us call kopites "deluded." If you have a real problem with footballers trying to earn the most that they can earn, then you might want to find another hobby because this won't be the last time you see this happen in football.

You don't like that he's leaving us. No problem. Don't like that he didn't play today. No sweat. Don't like that we don't have any money to spend on a replacement. Fair enough. But here's one undeniable fact. Steven Pienaar didn't drop us in the grease like Lescott did and has played every match for us with 100% effort.

What more do you want?

I can go with a lot of those points. I think it's the emotional side of people taking over, we're passionate about the club and would give our right testical to play for the blue shirt. Perhaps that makes it hard for people to understand that the majority of footballers are not of like mind.
His agent has done him no favours either tbf.

Probably the crux of it right there. Many footballers don't have the intelligence to put together a business deal-most of the time it is the agents that cause the stand offs-personally i'm not as peeved with the player now as I am with the agent, although 12 months or so ago when it appeared he might not stay on, I was more of the opinion that he did owe us or at least Moyes a bit more.

Naturally he wants his last big pay day and I still think it's the wrong career choice to move on at 29 when he's established himself here. However, I suppose its the general greed in top level football in general that annoys people more than anything, which leads to more of emotional stuff coming out and Steven's getting a bit more of it, especially due to our lack of options to effectively replace him right now.

He had every intention of leaving us last summer but that was scuppered when he had a crap world cup, subsequently not one single bid was submitted. He is also intent on denying the club a transfer fee in order to line his own pockets, the same club that salvaged his dwindling career at Dortmund. He is ( allegedly) pricing himself out of a move to Chelsea by demanding huge wages that he and his agent know full well that Chelsea won't pay, all in order to line his own pockets with the extra few grand.

His wages should be docked for his decision not to make himself available yesterday, but that won't happen because DM will probably be wary of upsetting him and that it will only reaffirm his intentions of snubbing Chelsea.Yes he has given us 100%, but that's what he's paid to do.

So I do not feel the need to be " Careful" Everton are his employer and we have every right to cash in on our comodity. So what I want is for him to repay the the faith shown in him and all that we've done for him. I don't hate him and won't boo him on his return to Goodison, he's just another mercenary who makes this game the rancid business it has evolved into.

I'm sure the Bible doesn't say "Drink driving rules" either.

I'll rightfully have a pop at any selfish idiot that attempts to do such a hideous thing.
