Pienaar & Osman

No I'd play Mirallas there and play Naismith ahead of Oviedo.

I've seen enough tbh. Hes had a handful of appearances where he has came on and done absolutely nothing. Hes just been a number on the pitch. Not good enough at present for me.

Whereas Naismith has terrorised defenders with his mazy runs and Beckham-esque crossing.

Course they could with arest. Ideally Lestienne and Fer would be coming in for them now and again.....but I forget why that doesnt happen!!!

So you would rather see naismith on the right than Oviedo on the left?

I don't get that. I defended Naismith earlier in the season, but he's shown no signs of improvement. Oviedo has pace, he can beat a man and put crosses in the box. Naismith offers nothing creatively and just seems to lose the ball whenever it comes to him, his touch isn't good enough. He'll run about and he's got decent movement in the box but that's about it from what i've seen.

3 goals in 27 games. Prolific.

Playing on the Right side of midfield. He looked much better (movement) when he came on against United next to Jelavic. He looks like he will drag centre backs out of position with his movement. That his position and he'd be 1million% better playing there. Not sure Naismith has started or even played in 27 games this season. However 3 goals is better than none.

I'd start Naismith ahead of Oviedo yes. Theres a goal threat. What has Oviedo done? Absolutely nothing. Not even a solitary goal. This beating of a man and putting crosses in? Think he done that once v Norwich and Naismith scored.

If Naismith plays next to Jelavic I think Jelavics goals will come back. The movement of Naismith will give him more opportunities. It won't happen though.

3 goals is better than none but it's not a good enough return to sacrifice all other aspects of the game.

Scholes is better than Lampard in virtually every aspect of the game IMO, but considering Lampard's goal return at the moment I'd have him in our team. If he'd scored just 3 more than Scholes, however, it'd be a different story.

Naismith has done literally nothing positive except score them 3 goals in comparison to Oviedo who, while I think looks lightweight, has got pace and can play a pass (Norwich at home for example, where he played a great through ball to Naismith who only had to roll it 6 yards along the ground to Jelavic for a tap in but somehow managed to put it out of play).

i can't believe someone suggested the inclusion of Stones in place of Pienaar or Osman. the fact is Ossie or Pienaar can make that difference. They are match winners and I wouldn't drop them unless they were injured

proper footballers dont give the ball away as much as these 2 do , sorry eggs

..we'll have to agree to disagree. Osman has been the hub of the wheel for a major part of the season. Some of his performances have been absolutely top drawer, receiving passes with opponents in proximaty, a little shimmy and then hand off to set a move running. Things that look so simple but are not. Historically he's come up short in big games but this seasons Derby was a great example - they couldn't get near him.
Similar with Pienaar, I've heard seasoned pro's saying he's one of the best they've seen. Because we watch their every move and passes go astray, we shouldn't put these boys down. They are top players.

But Naismith isnt a winger and has scored 3 goals out of position. More than Oviedo has done. Oviedo has done nothing, hes had no impact at all. So much so that 99.9% of other fans wouldnt know who he is.

Regarding Lampard and Scholes. That is a poor comparison as they both play in the same position (and personally I'd say Lampard is much better than Scholes. At his peak Schloles was the better player but thats years ago).

Naismith is not a natural Wideman and Oviedo is so in general hes played in his natural position. I'd agree Oviedo is a better technical player. But Naismith movement and Goal threat out weighs Oviedos current ability in terms of impact. Therefore yes I would start Naismith ahead of him.
