Pienaar & Osman

Osman has been good this year. Yeah his forms dropped off of late but that happens with ALL players. When that happens other players form should be making up for it. That's not really happening at the moment.

Infact who have we got inform at the moment?

Jags who has been all season, baines who's just always ace, maybe Fellaini and vic. Other than that I wouldn't say anyone's in form. Players like Gibson pienaar mirallas jelavic certainly ain't who are players we need to find some form.

Piennar has been dreadful for months, he's the problem the left's under performing, not Baines.

I can't believe how he gets away wth it but because he's a fans favourite not a thing gets mentioned really.

He's been shocking for 4 months + now, I mean really bad.

I am one of a few who doesnt rate Oviedo at all tbh mate. In fact I prefer Naismith. I'm not saying Oviedo wont come good eventually, just at present he is ineffective, lacks a cutting edge. Naismith has a couple of goals to his name and I think he has a fantastic engine in him. I also liked his movement when he was finally given an opportunity to play next to Jelavic.

Not having a go mate but I just don't understand how you can form any kind of judgement on Oviedo based on the number of minutes he's actually been on the pitch............. he needs a run of games.

They are both below par but would still have Pienaar in the team because he is one player that can still cause problems even when off form. Osman to me is a different matter. When on form he is a competent player no more no less but when off form I don't think he should be near the first team. He has clever feet sometimes and the odd shot say 1 in 10 is a screamer and the rest are frankly embarrassing. He is slow and weak and has cost us a couple of goals this season through poor marking and not being alert. So when off form he needs to be benched as he is a non entity but on form he is competent.

Don't really agree with this resting business to be honest. They're professional athletes FFS. Why is Football the only professional sport where people have to be rested?

i agree - my team for Saturday would be:
Howard
Stones -- Jags -- Distin -- Baines
Gibson
Mirallas ---- Fellaini ---- Oviedo
Jelavic ---- Velios

our left has become too predictable and stoppable -
Baines can then concentrate on defending and stop us conceding most of our goals from his side -
have Pienaar and Ossie on the bench as a planB

Put Oviedo at LB and push Baines up, he's there most of the game anyway, hence the problem.

That's what the new guy will do come august.

You'd play Naismith on the left?

No I'd play Mirallas there and play Naismith ahead of Oviedo.

I've seen enough tbh. Hes had a handful of appearances where he has came on and done absolutely nothing. Hes just been a number on the pitch. Not good enough at present for me.

Osman definitely looks like he needs to be taken out of the starting line-up. He's been below par for a while now.

I don't understand why Moyes was happy to throw Hitzlsperger in when he was clearly over-weight, but refuses to use him at all now that he's been here long enough to build up a decent level of fitness. It's not like he ever played particularly badly when given chances earlier in the season.

I agree Hitzlsperger should be used for a game now and give Osman a breather, don't think he would let anyone down to be honest.

Anyone else think these two could do with a break (on recent performances).

Osman is looking nackered and Pienaar (though less than Osman) is also floating in and out of games.[/QUOTE]

He always has though hasnt he? I agree though.
