This is Van der Meyde surely. VDV is the third to the left of the bottom row.

Third to the left of the back row is Heitinga.

Pretty obvious Pienaar is the first guy to the left of the bottom row.

He's still a good player to have in the squad.

It's precisely BECAUSE Martinez has used the squad so effectively in the last 10 games that people are saying that Pienaar is surplus to requirements during the time he's been injured.

He'll be straight back in on the left because no-one who's replaced him is a better option at this time.

He's never been a 'proper' wide man/winger.
Always been a playmaker, albeit from one side of the pitch. He has played centrally for us before, usually behind the striker rather than centre of the park.
He's a great little player, and as boss as our wide play has been at times this season, he is still very important for us. He may not be the most incisive or threatening in front of goal, but he links things well and makes the ball stay in the final third better than most. Very good & different option to the pacey, direct wingers we seem to be favouring at the moment.
