Pienaar - how much

I always thought that it was a loan to the end of the season with first option to buy for £2.5m at any point in time during the loan.

Then if we fart around and wait till after the loan to do business they can bump the price up/flog him elsewhere. So we would be very stupid not to buy him while we can for the nice price.

If thats all true.

From how he's played, theres no way Moyes will not sign him or leave it to risk that he didnt come to the club.

It will be made permanent, and what a bargain. He's impressed me a great deal this year and is important to the team.

I wasn't sure if that was how it was originally drawn up. If that's the case, then good on Everton mgmt for giving us the option and not Dortmund. I'd also guess then that the fee is pre-agreed.

No reason not to make it permanent now vs. end of season then.

yeps and thats why I believe moyes is waiting on the fence and not buying right away, wait until the last minute and purchase him, am also fairly confident the price was pre arranged, so dortmund couldnt raise it later on.

£2 million I think.

Unless he has a blinding ANC and then it will be £6 million.

It's a pre-agreed fee I believe. £2.5m was touted around as said figure.
A complete farkin steal at that price.

Moyes has also stated he is waiting till seasons end as we have exclusive buy rights on his contract. I think he is using it more as a carrot and stick approach to get the best out of Pienaar.
Moyes is not soft, once bitten twice shy. He has had the Manny situation blow up on him and won't let it happen again with Pienaar.

am not sure it was because of manny, its probably now more in line with wanting to ensure he brings quality into the team, instead of spending now and see if he makes it, and it makes perfect sense being as as he is on an exclusive buy anytime loan contract. He want to make sure that there is quality in the team, and to do that, he needs to make absolutely sure the players he is bringing in is right for a club going places.

Cue summer of agonising waiting for a fee to be hagled over, i can feel the tension, "its july and he still hasnt signed".

Sorry just been on toffeeweb Michael says hey!

We're talking toffeeweb here mate of which i was regular poster.

Them were the days though, Beattie was gonna be the bomb, AVDM just invented sliced bread, and Simon Davis was gonna prove why Spurs have cocks on their shirts. Some bloke called Collina was the best ref in the world also but never liked everton after selling his fashion icon Tommy G.!

the reason is motivation. Plus if we've paid for a years loan, may as well get that year, then sign him for five extra years.

i can remember reading pienaar is on loan with an option to buy for 2.5 million.
