I want him to do well because that means Everton do well.

I make no apologies for that.

The silver lining in all of this is for us fans. Every week now we have a ready escape clause from abject misery. Should Everton win its a good vibe all around. Should Everton lose then its another 'I told you so' moment for all us doubters. admittedly the BFS experience told me that the smugness wears off after a few games and turns to ire - but at least that wont be focused on the club or players.
