That is one hell of a shout. Possibly the best I've seen in the penalty area. Sublimely brilliant.

I think it's a bit rich to talk about teams getting niggly with Barcelona and getting under their skins. The days when that team and those who bow down to them getting away with propagating the line that they're pristine are well and truly over. The ugly side of their game has been there for all to see for 12 months or more.

As for others going toe to toe with them: Chelsea did exactly that two years ago at Stamford Bridge, created umpteen chances and only the officials stood between them and the CL Final. The first leg of Inter v Barcelona last year saw Inter cane the Catalans on the break and lock them up in midfield - unless of course you dont see a counter attacking game as real football and 'negative'?
 
United's plan was to go for an early goal and then sit on it, if i picked up what one of their players said last night. But United are not a defensive, stifling side (like Inter of last year) so in a way, they fell prey to their own attacking and counter-attacking instincts (in the face of a phenomenal opposition).
